Here, there and everywhere.
And then there's this, which I watched last night. I almost turned it off, because it really seemed like a "Bridget Jones" knock-off, but I've always been kind of in love with Simon Pegg (and bonus feature, he's got a beard in this movie, ooh la-la) so I watched the whole thing and it was very sweet and funny, and the polar opposite of "Jane Eyre." It's called "Man Up," and it's currently on Netflix.

Cute movie - my son got a kick out of it, having never seen it before.

Does anyone here ever come across a blu-ray or dvd that has (I don't know the technical term for it) a problem with the fluidity of the image. The effect that I'm talking about is that when people move (especially when there's a lot of movement, or fast movement) the movement feels unnatural, not fluid. I don't have this often, but a few blu-rays/dvds I have, have this. Among them also ones from top brands, like for example I have it with Disney's live action Cinderella (dir. Kenneth Branagh). It especially bugs me, because on this disc the extras don't have it at ALL, only the main feature.
The only conclusion would be that it's some mistake (from Disney in this case). My tv is LCD HD Ready, but that can't really be a problem? Also it isn't exactly new anymore (around seven years old), but why would this problem only show up with just a few movies and not in general? It's too bad I can't try a disc like that on another tv as I don't have one.
It seems unlikely that a studio like Disney would put a film in such poor quality on blu-ray, but why would a problem like that only show up on just a few particular films and not on all (if the problem is the tv).

Started to watch A Most Wanted Man last week. I was a hue fan of PSH, but the movie put me to sleep after about an hour and I didn't care enough about finding out how it ended to finish watching.

Watched Daddy's Home last night.
Goofy Mark Walberg/Will Ferrell comedy that was everything it was supposed to be. Sometimes you just need a movie that doesn't involve using your brain. And since I don't like chick flicks, this was good for that.

Gold - Unrecognisable Matthew McConaughey - in story of big business treachery which is true (a bit)
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter - Incoherent videogame mess closing a franchise which has outstayed its welcome
Rings- Incoherent non-videogame mess attempting to reboot a franchise which has outstayed its welcome

Hold 'Em Jail (1932). Uh oh! Wheeler and Woolsey get framed and sent to prison? Whoa-OH-ohh! Once there, pre-code comedy hi-jinks ensue, as the duo have the run of the joint, wind up playing football for the prison team, and make time with the warden's daughter (a young Betty Grable! Wow, keep em flying, boys!). My son and I got a few good yuks out of this one. Three pigskins.

Finally got around to watching Captain America: Civil War. Yeah, I know, I'm kinda late (I usually prefer old movies fulla dead people). But I dug the hell out of this one. Gotta dry my eyes and change my pants. Yes. Oh yeah. Another great MCU flick...but it's a sad state of affairs when I have to turn to Hollywood in order to see my favorite characters done right. Anyhoo, wow, killer, hell yeah and all that. I give it four excelsiors.

Just recently saw that one myself, pretty impressive all the way thru. I like where they're going with the story line.

Marvel's Captain America is the closest I'll ever get to seeing a contemporary Superman done right on film. This is why I love MArvel - they wholeheartedly embrace their superheroes, and don't feel the need to apologise for them.
