"Eastern Promises", a David Cronenburg crime thriller about the Russian Mafia in London. Contains the most horrific, gory and graphic fight scene that I've seen in a long time. I thought that it was very good but my wife, who is a great Viggo Mortensen fan, and it was he who was fighting for his life (naked) did not. She described it as "too nasty".

Land of the Pharaohs starring Joan Collins. It's on TCM right now and I remember this from when I was a kid. I remember how chilling it was to realize that
greedy Joan was going to be buried alive with her ruler and she didn't know it until it was too late and the giant slabs of rock were slamming in place.

This is a great flick. Viggo is awesome. A History Of Violence is another great Viggo flick.

The Godfather. And Vito Corleone curses his family by not honoring the request of The Undertaker.

The Undertaker comes to Don Vito wanting his daughter's boyfriend and his friend killed because, " they made her drink whiskey and tried to take advantage of her. She kept her honor, so they beat her like an animal." "Beautiful girl. Now she will never be beautiful again."

After a discussion, the Don promises something, a gift on the day of his daughter's wedding.

"Give this to Clemenza. I want reliable people, people that aren't going to be carried away. I mean, we're not murderers in spite of what this Undertaker thinks."

By Vito saying this, we know The Undertaker asked that they be killed, and Don Vito refuses. But wait! No Sicilian can refuse any request on his daughter's wedding day.

Thus, curse. All their misfortune had nothing to do with the mafia. lol.

Wasn't that great movie?! One of my favorites and the acting by all players was just spot on for their characters.
Agnes Moorehead was wonderful in her role! As were they all! I watched the extra's afterwards and found out so much cool stuff. Such as- it was considered a 'sequel' to Whatever Happened To Baby Jane as Joan Crawford was to play Olivia de Havilland's part and they actually filmed alot of the movie with Joan, but she developed an illness (she was unhappy with Bette for something) and checked into a hospital. So, Bette asked her good friend Olivia to step in and they re-shot the whole thing! Olivia even had to use some of her own wardrobe as they didn't have time to create anything for her. Olivia brought a warmth and regalness to the role that Joan wouldn't have been able to duplicate. Bette was a co-producer (uncredited tho) and she got Joan axed. It was well known that they were rivals in Hollywood. Joan campaigned behind the scenes to keep Bette from winning an Oscar for her performance in Whatever Happened To Baby Jane. Joan called all of the four other nominated women and asked if she could fill in for them if they couldn't make it to the Oscar event. There was one who said yes as she was tied up filming out of the country. Of course she won and as Joan walked past Bette on the way up to the stage, she stopped and said 'Sorry, Bette, I have to go accept an Oscar.' That is why she was fired from Charlotte!!

I watched that too and it was so interesting to hear the scheming and conniving going on. I personally think Joan just knew she could not match Bette's Charlotte. Bette would have acted her under the table and I think she wanted to be let go to save face and blame other and accomplished that by having some illness that kept her from the set for a month.

Olivia was such the epitomy of southern lady -- until she wasn't! Just classic acting. I'm glad you liked it.

Bette should've used a wire hanger on her!
