Well lol I am a horror fan no doubt, comedy movies are a close second. I really am not into romance or drama movies. That being said, I recently saw Stranger Than Fiction... like ten times. x.X I am hooked on this movie! I adored the woman who played opposite of Will Ferrell, she is amazing! I was already a big fan of Will Ferrell, but wow I never thought of him other than a comedian, but after that movie and the most amazing movie kiss I have ever seen, I just want to smooch his face off! o_O Also it was my first time hearing Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric. I love that song!
Then I saw a movie that's kind of under the radar called Loch Ness starring Ted Danson of all people. OMG I highly *highly* recommend this feel good movie. Awesome for the whole family!

After all these years I finally watched "The Shawshank Redemption" last night. I even bought the DVD. I usually don't care for movie adaptations of stories I like (especially Stephen King ones, with a few exceptions) I really liked Shawshank. Really think Tim Robbins is great in this.
Gotta be the best King adaption out there, followed very closely by the original Carrie.

Watched Phone Call From A Stranger starring Bette Davis. One of the movies in that compilation that I got at Costco with 5 of Davis' movies in it. She's actually only in it for about 10 minutes, but she's magnificent. Shelley Winters is in it longer than Davis. Good movie, kind of like It's A Wonderful Life.

I am a member at Librarything -- I won a copy of The Women of Hammer Horror and Bette Davis is in it for this movie. I just read her part this week and if I remember correctly, they say her acting in the movie was good.
Yes, she is good, and creepy (it's a Hammer film, after all), in it. The young boy that plays opposite her is outstanding and held up his own to Bette. It's got good performances but I think it's one of those movies that she did later in her career just to get a paycheck as the roles weren't coming her way anymore. She even put out an ad in the Hollywood Reporter asking for roles- how sad is it that someone who was once one of the biggest stars in the world had to beg for work? Actresses today complain that once you hit 30 there's no good roles for woman, but it's been since day one in Hollywood.

Watched the last movie in the Bette Davis collection that I bought a week ago- All About Eve. Saved the best for last! She is magnificent in this one! A role that was tailor made for her with what must have been a somewhat true-to-life storyline (aging 'stage' actress who realizes that her time is just about run out for her acting roles and the newcomer who shows up to steal the spotlight from her). Has what I believe is Marilyn Monroe's first film role and she almost steals the scene (no, she's not the newcomer)!

Last night I watched Perks of Being a Wallflower - it was pretty sad, very moving and tragic. Oh the angst of being a teenager! How did we all survive? And if you were unlucky enough to have an issue of some kind, it was even worse - you think everyone knows your humiliating secrets. I sort of wish I hadn't watched it.

Depressing as hell . . .I felt bad for days after watching it.

I purchased the 'Alien' anthology on bluray from Amazon and have been watching all of the 'extra's on it. Pretty interesting stuff! It contains the first four movies, both the original releases and then 'director's extended' versions. Amazon had it on sale for less than $20!! For bluray!! I'll probably have an 'Alien' film marathon on my two days off this week!

I bought the Alien Anthology on blu ray from Amazon the year before last and had an Alien marathon. It was fun. But I still haven't finished all the special features, which was over a hundred hours of material if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I am afraid to go into the MU-TH-UR mode on the discs- might get lost in another dimension and not emerge for days...
