Keoma (1976) Franco Nero

The 2nd film on my spaghetti western blu-ray. Keoma returns from fighting in the civil war to find his brothers have sided with a bad guy who is controlling and terrorizing his town. Keoma squares off against his brothers to try and free the town. This movie is one of the best spaghetti westerns that I've seen. It lacks a cohesive plot but the plot is good enough to go along with the tense action. The movie has a moody dreamlike quality that works well and some symbolism that I'm not sure if anyone knows what it means (like strapping Keoma to a big wheel like he was hanging from a cross);-D. I found the music to be overbearing at times. My language barrier probably didn't help but the music drove me crazy in places. If you're in the mood for a good spaghetti western, try this one.

That beat her thing. Did not work out too well when he tried it...:grinning:
Do you realize that Miss Ceily's (Whoopie) husband, 'Mister', was a relatively rich man? For a black man back then, he owned property and a house and horses, etc. He was kind of well off for a black man back in that time.

Just watched Silver Linings Playbook on Netflix. I liked it, but with all the hype surrounding this movie, I honestly expected more. Great performances, though! The supporting cast was amazing. Loved De Niro. It made me feel sane! ;)
I still say Naomi Watts deserved the Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as the mom in that movie about the tsunami (I can never remember the name of it!!!).

I loved that movie, but I watched a while back, before the hype. DeNiro was pretty great. Bradley and Jennifer were just sexy - the dancing was fun, and it was hysterical when they get their score and everyone's just like "why are they happy with a...."

The Impossible - oh that movie! It really made the event come alive for me. It's hard to wrap your mind around how it happened - the wave and the rushing water and instant separation from everyone and the debris - until you see it. I accidently starting watching it at bedtime and stayed up way too late because it hooked me. She did an outstanding job.

The King Of Comedy (1981) Robert DeNiro

This is a wicked take on fan obsession. Robert DeNiro gives a great performance as the very obnoxious comic wannabe and Sandra Bernhard is downright scary as an obsessed fan. Jerry Lewis plays the talk show host the characters are stalking.
I love this movie. DeNiro is unidentifiable as himself in this role. Pure genius.

FINALLY saw Guardians of the Galaxy! Well worth the money--fun script, good characters, good actors. Yeah, it had the almost requisite 'info dump' scenes, and yeah some of it didn't make total sense…but I loved it anyway. It was just fun :) LilMan and I went to see How To train Your Dragon 2 this weekend, as well, end that movie was good, too. Not many kids' movies leave me wanting to see what they do with the last movie, but that one did.

I also introduced my girls to Fame (1980)--what a blast from the past! They really liked it, and I was relieved that I still like it, too :)
