This is one amazing man! I can understand when he uses humour to overcome the fear. When fighting this disease, I have done the same. I do think it helps. Stephen King's humour kept me going. I think humour is an important tool to put things in perspective....to help one hold on to autonomy to a certain degree. This is a very moving account of one man's struggle.
