I am an almost 40 year fan and avid reader of Mr. King's books and being in the process of re-reading The Stand, I find myself wondering what ever happened to Joe/Leo. He obviously had a touch of the shine himself, and although the Free Zone was populated by those who were not necessarily dark, humanity being what it is, we all know there will be people who will not necessarily be socially acceptable people just because they didn't have the guts to be truly evil. This could be a whole new story for SK to explore and pursue. You know, the Free Zone 20 years later....

Exactly. Societies are re-forming, and to use the conversation between Glen & Stu re Utica & Boston, there will be various versions all over the country & the world. None of them will have Mother Abigail's direct connection to the other side. Seems to me like Joe/Leo could be the next "watchman". And yes, he was in good hands with Lucy; if you'll remember, Larry died in Vegas.
