Hipmama, it's a good thing I already think you're awesome. You may just make me re-think my attitude towards Leos.

Keep in mind, I don't make it a point to ask people what their sign is. I think astrology is fun, and thanks to my mom and certain friends, I've learned a bit about it. But I take it with a grain of salt. So I may have interacted with plenty of awesome Leos and just had no idea. The two (male) Leos I did know were so awful I almost developed a phobia.

My mom and I are both Saggitarius, and we could not be more different. Mom always said it was because I was born too close to Scorpio, but who knows. We're both fairly artistic, we're both redheads. But that's where our similarities end; she's the creative genius, social butterfly, give you the shirt off her back type. I'm the aggressive, sarcastic, stubborn, antisocial witch type. We get along like oil and water most the time.

My husband is a Libra, and one of (if not the) best people I know.

Yeah, astrology is TOTALLY accurate.

Several thousand years ago, when I was in college, I took an Intro to Psych course the way college students who don't want to work hard have done since time immemorial. One of the things that happened in that class was this:

Professor asks each student to identify his or her astral sign and then hands out brief descriptives -- very general ones like jen has posted above -- of each individual sign's "characteristics." So, we all read our sheets and then the instructor asks how many of the students would agree that their astral sign was generally accurate in its depiction of their personality, and almost every hand in the class went up, including mine (I'm a Libra and "balanced" is about the furthest thing from what I am).

Maybe you've already guessed, but what the professor had done was hand everybody the same sheet of descriptives with a different heading on each one, depending upon which sign you had indicated.

People love to be told they're wonderful . . . even when they know without thinking about it too much that they're not.

How do you think psychics prosper?
That is brilliant! I was a humanities buildings nerd.

I share a birthday with a good friend - she is my polar opposite. She's loud, loves the spotlight, not very cautious with her words, needs some kind of award for the amount of confidence she has. I'm more of an observer - at least until I get to know you. I wear sunglasses in elevators so I don't have to make eye contact with strangers. I think about things for hours before I say them. You'd never know we were both Leos born on the same day.
