The board won't let me load the video here from FB for some reason (I suspect user idiocy.. mine) but here's the link to a short video of me working on the dragon. I filmed it for court to show what I have to listen to when I work, paint, write, sleep or anything else.
I'm blind as a bat with horrible posture from bending in to look closely, but I'm trying to get some work done, at least. Trying.

One of the benefits of living with a guy in the school system is that we chaperone prom every year. I learned long ago to leave the heels at home. I wear flip-flops. With pantyhose. Because I'm just that good.

Not a whole lot of progress, but at least it's clear where this is going to be.
This is the tower just sketched in graphite. It'll be painted in, starting tomorrow, but I wanted to capture what it looks like at this step, before it changes.
Trees will come forward from the sides of the tower. The kid n cat are each wearing red berets. There will be a shadow of the tower, and there will be an ornate railing (and shadow) of the balcony, and flowers climbing along the sides of the painting, with hint of a doorway.

I just finished this. It was one of two backgrounds I did at the same time not long ago.
This one is for my daughter's boyfriend, for his birthday. He has a thing for owls.

I already painted the first one, and I might do the same with the other two.

I'm so happy the studio's coming together.
Being economic laymen at best, Tall Guy and I didn't know that if we had a dedicated space for our artwork, we could write it off. Our tax guy told us just a few months ago. The plan was to clean out the living room and use that space. My daughter was moving in with her fiance, and the plan was to give them the furniture. They didn't want it, though. And she took all of her furniture with her, so why not use the empty room instead?
Except for the bird, the room was empty and clean this morning. We started moving stuff in today, starting with a long, flat custom-built table. Two artists, two leg spaces.
Now the Kid n at paintings have a new place to come to life, under the watchful eye of El Birdo.
...We're going to need more tables.
