I know this is the newbie section, and probably won't mean much to you. I have a daughter in the choir at South Panola High School in Batesville, MS. They are having a silent auction before their Christmas program on December 13, 2014. I know you have a thing about signing book through the mail. I'm not asking you to sign a book if you don't want to do so. I'm asking you to send us something that we can auction off for a decent price in hopes of funding a competition trip in the spring. I sent you a message on your Facebook account and was told to come here. If you have no interest in helping 57 children reach their goals, I understand. If you want to help, contact me for more details. I'm just looking for an answer. Thanks for your time and your work.

Hmm, well, Stephen DOES help lots of people and MANY children through his constant good works. Your wording is an interesting choice to ask someone to help.

Good luck.
Sounds like my Mom when she used to go into her Martyr act - oh no, no, don't worry about ME - I'll be fine!

So, this person came here with a slight 'tude and never returned?

Maybe she had better luck posting a guilt trip on some other author's message board. :glare:

She could hook up with Tara and the University Don. ;;D

Peace.
Maybe Dean Koonitz's site...she will say she has a Golden Retriever dog shelter that needs help....lol...Just joking.

Best of luck with your fundraiser! I hope you'll be able to reach your daughter's choir will reach their goal but we've been limiting sending out items to organizations in Maine and Florida for quite a few years now because it got to the point that we were being inundated with requests as public/government funding has seen dramatic decreases in their budgets and there was no way that it would be possible to accommodate all requests. Maine and Florida are the Kings' "home" states which is why those are the ones receiving items. As it has been pointed out, Mr. King DOES help many, many children and others through donations but he isn't able to help all of them. And just a bit of advice meant as constructive criticism for your future solicitation efforts, trying to manipulate someone by guilting them (particularly in a public forum) into giving isn't appropriate or effective. As you may have heard, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
