TV would be easy; internet, not so much, as I use it to communicate with the authors for whom I edit and with my reviewing gig. I do tend to go overboard when I 'jump on for just a minute' during the day (TAA-DAAH! I'm here! :D), though. I like @Mr. Nobody's idea to switch to the antiquated desktop for writing, though, and jump on the 'real' lappie (internet enabled) only when the day's work is done. Yep, I think I'll do that!

With the current state of tv programming, I don't see much challenge there. But the thing that really prevents me of reading/writing, is the internet/computer. It just makes me nervous, and unable to concentrate on anything creative. For me, the best time to do any reading is 10 pm to 3 am, only then I can feel relaxed. Damn internet!

No good deed goes unpunished.
About 4 months ago I had tickets to take my Miss 11 to One Direction ...colour you all jealous, I'm sure. Anyways it was a sold out concert and a few days before, one of her best friends managed to acquire a ticket for just her (her mother was going to take her to the door and pic her up from there...as were a lot of parents it turned out). Anyways, it occurs to me that my Miss 11 would probably much rather go with her friend than her mother ( I may have told this before now I think about it)...long story short-they sit together and I sit alone, glad to be female or I would have looked decidedly creepy, a non dancing, unaccompanied parental. Sooo, it has to be one of the very loudest concerts I have ever been to, and I have been to a few and of course the typical ringing ears and such the next day. However, this is where the punishment comes in to play. They have never stopped. Sometimes is louder than others, though never really loud enough to hear over just soft radio or the sounds of people chatting. To share too much info, its in the bathroom in the middle of the night thats where I really hear it..anywho (long story short my ass, you must be thinking) the idea of spending hours in a silent house didnt ever really appeal but now, I think might actually drive me mad. I really should see a doc.

That sounds awful! Get thine self to a doctor asap!! My mum suffers from Tinnitus. Not saying it's that, but get it sorted. :O_O:

My Dad used to Love that show.: It was SO politically incorrect... Archie was an equal opportunity racist. And then there was Edith...God Bless her heart...with the patience of Job..completely reminds me of my mother. Think I'll take a little quiet moment. Going to shower and curl up in bed with my notepad. Today was filled with Doctors office, waiting in long lines twice, My son screaming at me that he hates me and hopes I die, hubby being disappointed that had to run errands early morning (even though I was back by 10:30), a 400. pharmacy bill, a cold and...
Scrap tonight. I'm gonna wrestle my brat into the showerand crash. Tomorrow will be a new and happy day. I will be in much better frame of mind. not so bitchy and bitter.

I would also have a problem being without internet. I kind of need it for my part time jobs, plus I have moved around so much, I keep in touch with friends and family through skype, mail and facebook.
But, if I could leave the house for an hour or two every day, go to an internet cafe and get work/friends/family done, I actually think it would be a relief in many ways.
I really suffered after I moved to Germany, I totally had an addiction to my cellphone. I was constantly texting with my friends, and when I moved abroad, it was just too expensive to continue. I was shocked by how addicted I had become, it took several months before I stopped missing it horribly.
I think I would be able to relax and read again, if I had a week away from the internets.

@Winter: I am sorry about that, the ringing ears should have been gone after a week at the most. You should get it checked out.
