I wish we had something like that in NZ. We have a big Christmas and New Year and Labour Day, but no Thanks Giving...!! Have a great one!!Yes! I get tomorrow off!~ Woo Hoo!
Traditionally it is a day to reflect on what has happened all year and be thankful.
Also - with people bringing in the harvest etc., it is a time for everyone to get together and share in the bounty.
Thanks for the great job on the SKMB Banner! (Brian)
p.s. the "spoiler within a spoiler" shows a hockey player, voyageur, female Mountie etc. - not sure who the other girl is - (maybe Anne of Green Gables?)
I am not sure what the guy in the coonskin hat symbolizes - I always associate that with American legend Daniel Boone.
I have a Canadian neighbour right next to me, she is lovely. Torn between NZ and home...!!
I must wish her a happy Thanks Giving!! Love your flag, it's gorgeous.
That is the normal tradition here, just like at Christmas.Just a quick question-Here in America, we have a huge thanksgiving dinner with family. Is it the same in Canada?
Thanks Nessy! That is the normal tradition here, just like at Christmas.
You're welcomeThanks Nessy!
They consider it a Federal/ government holiday. The northern states celebrate more than other states. Parades etc. Some school are closed/ not all. You're welcome
I have a question for you - is Columbus Day a day off in the States for most people?

Just for federal employees, banks, license branches and post office.
I am! (still have not decorated much - actually, not at all ] - I have lots of decorations in my basement storage.Halloween next...not really into that one.
So appropriate for MEdical Records!I am! (still have not decorated much - actually, not at all ] - I have lots of decorations in my basement storage.
I noticed one area of work had the decorations up yesterday.
I have a big sign on a string that says "Dead Zone" - I will bring that in to contribute - they like that in Medical Records
I'm assuming that's well out of sight of the public. Probably not real good PR to have that in a public area of a hospital.I am! (still have not decorated much - actually, not at all ] - I have lots of decorations in my basement storage.

It is a restricted area - you need a hospital pass to get in - the doctors just laugh it off so "it's all good" as I have heard my son say.I'm assuming that's well out of sight of the public. Probably not real good PR to have that in a public area of a hospital.
