Hi I am looking to buy some Stephen King 1st edition books if any of you have any extra that you are willing to sell please let me know. Mostly interested in his older works as I have all the newer books and also the dark tower series.

Thanks,
Daniel
Welcome Daniel - try Value Village or other thrift shops - that is a good source in my area for the older first editions

Welcome Daniel, great name! There is a hidden bookstore near me filled with hidden treasures. First editions and other rarities are mixed in with everything else! I will keep my eye out for you. Incidentally, let me know if you decide bite on the first edition of Lisey's story.
Hi Daniel,

I have the 1st Edition of Lisey's Story , it is signed and inscribed, it is hard cover and first edition. Near mint condition. Make an offer.
markkrivo, I am interested if Daniel turns it down.

Daniel - your avatar bears a bit of resemblance to the kid in The Dead Zone movie - Chris Stuart

(Just finished watching the movie for the first time)

I'm still interested in that first edition of Lisey's Story. I checked the going rates, and unless my good looks count, there's no way I can even make an offer!
Don't want to brag ;;D:casanova:

but

I do have a hardcover first edition of Lisey's Story plus a softcover first edition of Lisey's Story as well

- you're saying these are worth something? :umm:

I think we are lucky up here in Winnipeg - almost every single book of King's I have collected have been bought at Value Village or Salvation Army

okay - edit - I just checked out the above post

Mine (sadly) is not signed :dejection::confusion::down:

I think you have the right idea.
Wait a minute. Before I stick my foot in my mouth (what would that look like? My phone in my ear)
Let me make sure that I meant what I originally said.
. . .
. .? .
Yep. I did.
They are valuable in the right condition. Personally, I'm not looking for a collection for monetary value, although for the sake of my children, maybe I should start thinking along those lines. I just enjoy the legacy and satisfaction of having a first edition. The only first edition I've ever come close to owning was Tess of the Durbervilles, and that wasn't signed either.:bashful:
Yeats flat out refused, that sanctimonious jerk. Said something like, " too busy prophesying cryptically from beyond the grave to sign your book"
Love Lisey's story. It was one of the Stephen King books that my husband and I enjoyed together.
If it were signed randomly, I'm not sure that I would want it.

Unless it said "Naomi, hope you like reading it again";;D
Okay, let's talk about this in the morning.

  • I'm not an idiot; I know how the world works. I've got ten bucks in my pocket, I have nothing to offer you, but I'm too involved now . .

I was joking with Neesy, I would have no problem owning a signed first edition. Unfortunately, that is not within the scope of my budget. Thank you for the response though! I hope that you find a good home for it.
I found myself defending my fondness of the book today. The naysayer insisted that it was "just anotha weird parallel universe story".
That book made me feel not so alone in the world. When he described the flashback in the garden, I remember thinking "Oh my God, I know what that is like, I've been there- that's happened to me!", I often wonder if anyone else has had that kind of experience.
The impressive skill evidenced by the author is to write about these moments eloquently rather than talk about then in reality as though they are possible.
