In this case there was enough clearance between the railroad tracks and the underside of the train but I wouldn't count on it.

Saw it on the news the other day. From what I understand both woman were able to get up and walk/run away after the train stopped. One even yelled something like 'We're okay!' over their shoulder when the conductor asked how they were. The authorities are looking for them. They could face a hefty fine for 'criminal trespassing'. By the way, I was NOWHERE near that train trestle.........
