It was really well made and had great special effects. It's nice to see a film that uses real effects instead of all CGI. I mean it wasn't life changing. Th story was slightly weak, but then again, what is the story of any of these movies? But I liked it a lot. It was definitely the best one of the series IMO. It certainly redeemed things after the Beyond Thunderdome stinker...

I think that all four Mad Max movies have had excellent stories, with more emotion and character than a lot of other stuff out there. Simple, yes, but I don't think quality of story comes from it's complication or lack thereof. The overarching story of Max in the first three was especially well done I thought (losing humanity in the first one, regaining it slightly in the second, going almost full circle in the third).

And I really like Beyond Thunderdome. Yeah, I'm weird like that. ;;D

What a weirdo ;D

I liked the train section at the end of Thunderdome (as I understand it, that was the biggest section that Miller himself directed). Other than that...not so much.

I went to see MM:FR again, and wanted to get in line again and sit right back down :) Liked it even more the second time, and caught a couple of things I missed the first time, which was nice. There are so many things that I'm wildly curious about--little back story stuff. It's great to have a filmmaker NOT feel like they have to spoon feed the audience everything. It's like you're dropped into this world where you don't understand everything that's going on, and you have to just go with it...a lot like real life.

When I was in the theater watching the movie, I was racking my brain trying to figure out who was playing Nux. He looked familiar to me but I couldn't figure it out. So when I got home, I had to look it up and it's Nick Hoult. I love British tv shows and watch them often on netflix. He was on the TV show Skins. He was also in the movies Warm Bodies and About A Boy (when he was a kid, of course).

And both of the most recent X-Men movies (as the Beast). :)
