Despite continuous Internet research I have yet to find a clear answer on this; are they or are they not making a movie adaptation of Rose Madder? Anyone know any details on this? After reading it for the fiftieth time it would thrill me to know they're doing something with it.

According to IMDb they have a screenwriter working on it, Naomi Sheridan. And the production companies are Grosvenor Park and Palomar Pictures. So it's probably in the earliest stages of development.
HBO had bought the film rights many years ago but it never went to the green light stage. I'm not 100% sure but I think I did hear something recently about it finally getting there.
