My poor kids and what they have had to endure from me. I'll never hear the end of it. Let's just say, when I'm really mad, I can make really mean rhymes - just off the top of my head - like a prophet of doom. And look like a crazy woman. I'm afraid they'll record me someday. That's the advantage they have over me that I never had over my mom. Putting me on youtube looking like Joan Crawford and sounding like Satan.

If we were laughing too much "You'll be laughing on the other side of your face before the night is over!"

Sounds ominous -

or (Made for a lady and wasn't required) - if she thought I was acting snooty which apparently was often.

I told Andy that one and he said it was sort of a compliment (Mom was Scottish).

"don't let the door hit ya on the way out"

(Which is what I'm saying to Target today. ;) )

This one started simple but could be fancied up if she felt like it. And it's one I used quite regularly with my kids.

When someone was whining "that's not fair" mom would say "who told you life was fair"

I remember one time she went on quite a ramble about it. "Who told you life was fair? Not me. I never said it. Was it one of your teachers? Is that what they teach with that new math?"
