Two things struck me in the conservation was she said Charlie told her she wasn’t needed to go along when the crimes were committed, and she always resented that. The other was that Charlie had a bunch of kids running around. She took a shine to me, but I don’t know if she was just playing me up because of the uneasiness I displayed after our initial conservation and whenever I talked to her afterward. I made sure I stayed away from our trailer those couple of days as much as possible because I thought she was nuts. Of course my “friends” played it up and always yelled over to her camp whenever I was back, as she came over several times looking for me. It was 40 years ago and not much more that I remember about it.
