I really do not know too much about him, only that here seems to be everywhere and has been in trouble in the past.

Never seen him. I listened to an interview about him with a guy who writes for the New Yorker. He was rather pointed in his criticism of the TV personality's promotion of products and modalities that don't have scientific bases.

I think any doctor shopping a show on daytime TV should be immediately stripped of all credibility and promptly removed of said title.

A snake oil salesman much like our beloved pastor Danny post terrible sermon. Matter of fact I bet his show would have the timeslot directly between Oz and pickle head. A show portrayed as help for the hapless but nothing more than a guise to prop up and further one mans agenda.

It makes my heart smile that you used the plural of the word "basis."

OT, yes. Snake oil salesman. Which, you know, free country, whatever, but the fact that he's a doctor ... he should be held to a higher standard by the people who pay him. How many people waste a ton of money (and hope) on whatever unproven thing he's hawking simply because he's got "MD" after his name?

I used to watch Dr. Oz while on the elliptical trainer and treadmill at the HSC gym but the fitness dude there said he was a scam artist.

I know that the women in his audience treat him like a god. I DO like the fact that he promotes alternative medicines and using food/herbs as a substitute for pharmaceutical drugs.

He is definitely better to watch than Dr. Phil - he is almost as bad as Jerry Springer now (but without the hair pulling).

On another forum they call Phil "Dr Shill" - always selling something from him, books.. make up from wife, kid has some doctor show.. and another app thing with a call in help line for like a million dollars a minute.

He is like Springer now but with better network commercials.

Oz's daughter is on a show called The Chew, I wonder if this will be mentioned. Probably not
