I tried three different times.....
First try, I just put the egg in by itself. Three seconds later, it exploded.
Second try, I covered it with water. Five seconds later, it exploded.
Third try, I poked little holes in each end and covered it with water. Five seconds later, it exploded.
My house smelled for a week! :facepalm_smiley:
I wonder if it was the salt that made the difference as I've never tried it myself, but found this video that claims it works to boil eggs in a microwave and all she did was add 1/2 tablespoon to the eggs covered with water.

Okay - so let it sit after it heats up? For a sec I thought you meant cook it for 20 minutes!

Me, too, if I'm going to be honest about it. I'm one of those who still believes that I can heat up spaghetti sauce without covering the dish if I just do it for a little at a time, stir and repeat.

lol, I had no idea you were so adventuresome. I like to live a little bit dangerously but not so much so that I wouldn't cover spagetti sauce :)

If I know me, I still wouldn't use them half the time--that's the lazy part even though I know I'll probably be cleaning the microwave which is a lot more of a PITA than it is to just cover the damn dish.
In my house, a certain someone uses a paper plate as the cover. I sooooo enjoy watching it "explode" off the bowl!
