I have to say, this has really touched me in a way these types of things never do.

I do not know the family, but, the Manor this couple resides in is where my dad lived his last year. He did not have Alzheimer's but another form of dementia. My grandmother was also in the same home. And yesterday, a relative of mine that was in that home passed away.

I've decided I'm going to see if I have any crafts ready that I can include with the card.

That's totally about us! That's crazy. I wonder how they knew!
I meant the story is about Bev and Don and not about us....but the comment about the SK message board definitely IS us. :D I'm guessing the person writing the article googled to see where the couples name would pop up.

This has been an amazing day. There is a buzz i the air at Summerset Manor. The card count today stands at 223 cards. Amazing generosity. A veterinary Hospital in Ontario sent a beautiful arrangement to my parents. The staff at the manor presented them to my father who brought them over to the next unit to my mother. When she saw him walk in her room with them, she got right out of bed to give him a hug an kiss. It was an amazing moment according to the staff there. That being said, I want to ask your permission to spread this joy with all of the residents of the summerset manor. At this rate, there will be thousands of cards arriving and we think it would truly be nice to spread this magic and joy with the residents who are also struggling this time of year. So with your permission after I present the cards to my parents, I would like to share them with the other people they now share their lives with. I hope you don't mind, and once more, thank you sooo much.

This seriously warms my heart. This is truly what Christmas is all about.

I think I may call the home by my house and see if there is someone (or a few people) who could use a Christmas card.
