I've always heard the knock on Bruce Willis is that he can only play Bruce Willis, which is perfectly okay with me, as I like Bruce Willis. I think his particular brand of engaging smart-aleck could fit this role well enough, although I hope he doesn't revert to his Hudson Hawk strategy when he has to play "scared" (if he can).

Rob Reiner picked James Caan for the role of Paul in the film Misery because he knew that James was a very 'physical' actor, meaning that James liked to moved around when doing a scene. Reiner knew the character of Paul would be more and more frustrated as the story continued from being unable to get out of the bed, and he wanted that same frustration to show on Caan's face for the movie. I think Willis is the same type of actor and that the director of this play made a wise choice in picking Bruce.

Iwould love to see this production- mostly for the chance to see Laurie Metcalf on stage. She's a very underrated actress, known mostly for her comedic roles but she has more depth than that. Should be interesting to see how this one goes. Let us know f you get to see it.
Here, here! She is amazing and one of my favorite actresses.

Nothing to do with the thread, but speaking of Laurie Metcalf:

I was watching The Larry Sanders Show on DVD this past weekend and I had forgotten they had a story arc where Larry (Garry Shandling) has a romance with Roseanne Barr.

I don't really have a punchline for that.

It's just there.
