I looked it up once and every lyric source I found says the lyrics are "oh lord", but for thirty years I've heard "hold on" every single time I listen to it. At least I'm not alone.

It always sounded to me like (pardon the vulgarity):

Which didn't make sense, but that's what I heard. It's actually:

"Revved up like a deuce

Here's an insight into our family that you didn't ask for and undoubtedly don't want.

Between blood and in-laws, there was a mini-debate. Is caramel pronounced "car-mel" or "care-a-mel"?

It could not be resolved. I stepped in with a solution. "Of course, it's ca-RAM-el."

We say "ca-RAM-el" to this day. At least, when no one else is around.

There are worse things for a family to argue about. Personally I always said Care a mel.

My daughter Addie was singing along with the song "Love Shack" and instead of "So hurry up and bring your juke box money" she sang "Hurry up and bring your juice box money!"
