I once rubbed GNTLGNT up the wrong way. All I can say is
that's the last time I offer to rub his suntan oil in for him

I was teasing him last week when I was giving him an update on the Nashville event and letting him know about the others selling out and told him he was a rockstar. :D
...but instead of throwing panties and roses on stage, they're throwing books with strings attached-hoping to lure him into a random signature.....I wonder how many of his used water bottles and Solo cups will get snagged THIS time?.....:D

I think a lot of people underestimated the demand and willingness of so many to stand in line for hours. I got there about 3AM and there were about 70 people in line. After about 6AM the line was probably long enough to buy up all the tickets. The only thing I fault the bookstore for is not cutting off the line when it was clear there were more people than tickets. That would have saved a lot of folks hours of standing in line for nothing. Otherwise the event was handled pretty well and the bookstore folks were polite and efficient.

Getting the Dayton tickets was madness and the venue had all three ways, online, in-person and phone, so I would imagine the other events would be the same way too — complete chaos, especially for those who couldn't get a ticket — and it does suck, but it happens! There are so many people who want to see Stephen King — it's all about timing and a little luck. While I got my tickets for the book signing I wanted, I underestimated the appeal of KISS and missed my chance to get my boys' concert tickets in the cheap seats. :facepalm_smiley: It happens everywhere! (Although, I think Mr. King is way better than KISS, my boys' wouldn't agree — but they are still young and don't know any better, yet!;;D)
