When you count the number of letters in our four famous Presidents appearing on Mt. Rushmore in the following order, you find this astounding coincidence:
Abraham Lincoln has 14 LETTERS in it...
Thomas Jefferson has 15 LETTERS in it...
George Washington has 16 LETTERS in it...
Theodore Roosevelt has 17 LETTERS in it...
This seems to almost "build" on the number 13--the number of our original colonies. Also interesting, "Mount Rushmore" and "Gutzon Borglum" (the sculptor of Mt. Rushmore) have 13 letters each.
What accounts for these and other amazing coincidences, I don't know. But the Swiss psychologist and paranormal investigator Carl Gustav Jung termed the phenomenon synchronicity. (By the way, I discovered these coincidences in 1988.)
Anyways, why do I share this topic with you all? For a number of reasons, actually. I have been fascinated with coincidences for some time now. I have even experienced a few myself. (When I was a little child for example, every time I flipped a coin, it would come up whichever side I had up in my hand. I just thought it worked that way. But can you imagine how many times I flipped it, and that happened? It really happened every time too. I kid you not. I digress...)
But I actually have this theory. I am very agnostic, at this point in my life. I mean I believe in God, but not much else. I don't believe in the supernatural at least. There must be some concrete for coincidences like this. (Consider the Tecumseh Curse too: Tecumseh's Curse and U.S. Presidents Who Died in Office ) A couple of years ago, I would attribute coincidences like this to spirits, or something like that. But what about advanced aliens?
At this point in time, I may have lost some of you. So let me elaborate. There are planets and solar systems much older than us. And intelligent life is likely quite common in the universe. Yet they never have contacted us (cf. the Fermi Paradox, for this). Maybe they are just affecting us secretly. To what end, and why with coincidences, I don't know. Ask them. But I hope some of you will agree, it is at least possible. (If some of you will agree with that, I will be glad.)
Also, don't scoff at my theory if it sounds silly to some of you. Stephen King bases many of his novels on things much more outlandish than what I have put here. In fact, I think my idea may make a good future book for Mr. King (hmm...).
