I can't say I actually hated the ending of Inception, but it was such a good movie I just wanted another couple of hours.

It was fun "keeping up" with that movie. I agree. Had to watch this with my kids tho, hubby hates those kinds of movies (that are complex and require thinking out of the box...)

Arlington Road.
The triumph of evil and the slaughter of innocents. Then they walk away to do more. Yeah, thanks, I get enough of that in real life. Try to entertain me.

2001: A Space Odyssey. The "trip" was confusing enough, interspersed with the other things. Stanley, I know you're a genius and all, but we're not married, and I can't read your freakin' mind, and don't expect me to. And then at the very end, a fetus in orbit? And then fade out? What the hell? It was like looking at abstract art, and everyone's going, "Oooohhhh," and you're saying, "Hey, I don't get it."

Can't agree with you on this one, but to each his own, though I admit on first viewing I was a little confused.

The book made it clear, but for me, the movie was like hearing random points of a story and being expected to thread them together.

One last one (at least for now): Signs. I honestly don't remember the movie all that much because I was pretty unimpressed, but I just remember thinking...
aliens? And that's it? And they don't like water? Why in the name of Q would they came to a mostly water world? Huh?

But maybe I'm remembering it wrong. I'd kinda lost interest by that point.

The ending to the movie was perfect in my opinion. (Spoliers) The fact that Hannibal gets away at the end of the movie solo as opposed to him and Clarice getting together as a couple??

I haven't. I still need to read Hannibal Rising. I loved how true to the novels, aside from Hannibal in quite a few regards, the movies were. Which of the movies was your favorite?

Silence of the Lambs hands down is one of the greatest movies ever and my favorite of them. I also really like Hannibal, because the atmosphere is perfect for the subject matter, and because it features Lecter in a more primary role, which means more Anthony Hopkins onscreen.

With me I would say it's a dead-tie with the Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal. The thing that made Hannibal a creepy person in the movies was that you didn't get into his mindset. The objectivity in character was what made the movies so good.
