We talking the plane with the blowout on the front tyre? The plane w/the stowaway in the wheel-well? Flight 370? Amelia Earache? What? I'm wanting the models to hold up models, make buzzing noises, lips spluttering, demonstrating for the ignorant public just exactly what the facts is. Yeah, coverage of Flight 370 got to be a tad too much, all the theory, what if this what if that. What's really disturbing to me is having read that book I've posted about numerous times, The War On Truth. This scholar from England can gather together the facts, albeit, after the fact, but the facts nevertheless, and present a story so at odds with what I've known...why bother with news? Establishment media has new and real and connotations. Why do I suspect now that there are likely facts and other "news" that did not and will not make the grade and that I won't read about for ten years, if then. If then.

...I have been in media for 35 years...and hell yeah, stuff gets overcovered to the point of sensationalization...non-stop coverage isn't needed if there's nothing new to say...it just rubs salt in the wounds of those affected by the usual parade of tragedy...and the thing that drives me bugshi* insane, is watching someone give a speech-then the blow dried pretty boys/girls have to natter on for half an hour-verbalizing what we JUST listened to...

I still remember being stuck at work with the TV on CNN the day that Eric Rodgers clown went on his temper tantrum shooting spree. I'll have his name, face and actions etched in my head for the rest of my life because for 10 hours they reported on absolutely nothing else.

If I'm at home I do everything I can not to watch the news for reasons like that, I always assume I'll find the important stories on the websites, read it once or twice and move on, without it being beaten into my brain over and over.
