Okaaaay, so I was going to post this thread like a week ago but then stuff happened and now I'm doing it this week. It's Music for Books. Meaning that when you read books, you're most likely listening to music. This also means that sometimes you choose out music (or maybe it's just me and I'm truly crazy) for books. Whether you guys do it or not, I'm doin' it.

This song was mentioned in the book, but "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen. I found this also creepy because, think of it, Susannah was singing songs after her when while she buried Eddie into his grave, but that's just me. :p I picked this song for a reason, and that's because it fits the scene before Eddie (my favorite character, by the by) gets shot in the head. The humes could have been heroes but were broken by the known and loved Low Men. It is, to me, a song for Eddie, probably singing to Susannah (I guess you could call it Susannah's Song! *slaps knee*) because there was no place left to hide. I think this song does not coincidentally fit this book though, it's like all nineteen. Here's the lyrics and song:

In the day we sweat it out on the streets of a runaway American dream
At night we ride through the mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected, and steppin' out over the line
h-Oh, Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we're young
`Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run

yes, girl we were

Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs 'round these velvet rims
and strap your hands 'cross my engines
Together we could break this trap
We'll run till we drop, baby we'll never go back
h-Oh, Will you walk with me out on the wire
`Cause baby I'm just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta know how it feels
I want to know if love is wild
Babe I want to know if love is real

Oh, can you show me

Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard
Girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors
And the boys try to look so hard
The amusement park rises bold and stark
Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
I wanna die with you Wendy on the street tonight
In an everlasting kiss

1-2-3-4!

The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight
but there's no place left to hide
Together Wendy we can live with the sadness
I'll love you with all the madness in my soul
h-Oh, Someday girl I don't know when
we're gonna get to that place
Where we really wanna go
and we'll walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us
baby we were born to run

Oh honey, tramps like us
baby we were born to run

Come on with me, tramps like us
baby we were born to run

Ru-uh-uh-un
Mm-mm-mm-mm
Uh-uh-uh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Ru-uh-uh-uh-un
Mm-mm-mm-mm
Whoa-oh-oh-oh
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Ru-uh-uh-un

Another song for me to this book is "Lost Kid" by The Apache Relay. Now, I'm kinda skeptical if that is a holy song or not, so if this offends you, I apologize, but I think it goes with the book. It could either be a song for Eddie or Roland or all four of them (don't forget Oy, he died like a hero, broskis). Because, once you see the lyrics, you'll notice that all of them have gone a pretty sucky life until Roland drew them through the doors, Roland's sucky life laying before he drew them in (even though most of them died). Well, you may say, "Elijah, brah, I don't know if you've noticed, but their lives got even more miserable when he drew them", but notice some of the last things they said to Roland; Eddie's being, "Thank you for the second chance, father." So that's my argument with that.Other things on it; a part of the lyric says, "I've been livin' in this tension, I just pretend I'm fine, that everything's okay, readin' in between the lines, hopin' anything, but I'm about to break."
Third Book anyone? The voices jabbing back and forth at Roland and Jake over and over again; Jake's voices telling him he was dead, he was alive, he was dead, he was alive; Roland's voices telling him that Jake was with him at the Way Station and that he wasn't there. How close were they to breaking? My answer, ladies and o' gentlemen, is very frick frackin' close. Here's the lyrics and stuff to that:

Sometimes I feel like I'm just a lost kid,
stumbling through these towns,
stuck between the waves.
Nothing feels the same.

I need an anchor that never lets go,
I need someone to call, hear a voice I know.
Something that feels like home.
Something that feels like home.

All my life, all my life, all my life I've been waiting for You
All my life, all my life, all my life I've been waiting for You

I've been searching all of my days, looking for any signs, reading between the lines, hoping for anything.
I've been living in this tension, I just pretend I'm fine, that everythings ok, but I'm about to break.
Yeah Im about to break

All my life, all my life, all my life I've been waiting for You
All my life, all my life, all my life I've been waiting for You
All my life, all my life, all my life I've been waiting for You
All my life, all my life, all my life I've been waiting for You
THE APACHE RELAY - Lost Kid Lyrics
(See what I mean, it sounds like a gospel song, my case not being helped by the capitalized Yous)
Okay, so this was really long (by this I mean I'm sorta lazy) so I'm going to probably (if the moderators would let me, will they?) update this like a short blog. You guys can post freely on here, too, by the by! Forgive any typos and stuffs, I'm really tired right now.

I'll beg the moderators...
just like Roland did with Sussanah

H'oookay, I haven't a nap, but I still can do another thing. This one, my friends, is a small one, but nevertheless one that shows up in my head a lot. Haunts me, perhaps.

Pet Sematary

So, this is going to be extremely short, but also my short thingy mebobber with this book. Well, you'll see when I talk about it.

What haunts me about this should be the first scene when Louis is operating on Victor (which was not very scary in the movie, I should say), because just how sudden he starts talking, and then I pictured it just cutting off and he was suddenly laying his head back and making those noises like a regular man in that much pain would do. However, it isn't. What haunts me about the terrifying book (the one that gave me my first genuine scares from S.K.) was at the end, when Louis looks back at the man whose name has slipped me at the moment. Louis's hair was all white at that point, and he was carrying his wife to the Pet Sematary. I was completely lost in translation with this book and this song.
The song is "Bad" by U2. This song is actually leading into one of my favorite songs on the whole planet evars (Leading up to "Where the Streets Have No Name" by U2 as well). The lyric that sticks out to me for this book is, "So Let it Go and so to fade away." Well, what the hell do you think Louis needed to do? Louis is also "Wide awake" in this, he's "Not sleepin" in this, because he can't stop thinking about Gage (one of his dreams l recall very well showing a future for Gage).
I just feel like this song is for this book in every way, even if U2 and Stephen King are so different.
I do want to say something else about this book, though. How meaningful it is is amazing. Its everyone if they had this ability, if they hadn't even been to the place just above the Pet Sematary. After a love one dies, we cry out about how it isn't fair, and that we would give anything just to kiss them one more time, to talk to them one more time, or even look at them breathing one more time. I mean, I don't mean to turn into one of those sentimental posts, but its extraordinary how he captures it. Me just writing this is making me realize that Pet Sematary is my favorite S.K. book. I could go on about it all day, for cereals, guys. Anywho, heres the lyrics and song:
If you twist and turn away
If you tear yourself in two again
If I could, yes I would
If I could, I would let it go, surrender, dislocate

If I could throw this lifeless lifeline to the wind
Leave this heart of clay, see you walk, walk away
Into the night and through the rain
Into the half-light and through the flame

If I could through myself set your spirit free
I'd lead your heart away
See you break, break away
Into the light and to the day

Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh
Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh

To let it go and so to fade away
To let it go and so fade away
I'm wide awake, I'm wide awake, wide awake
I'm not sleeping, oh no, no, no

If you should ask then maybe they'd
Tell you what I would say, true colors fly in blue and black
Bruised silken sky and burning flag
Colors crash, collide in blood shot eyes

Ooh ooh, ooh ooh
Ooh ooh

If I could, you know I would
If I could, I would let it go, this desperation, dislocation
Separation, condemnation, revelation
In temptation, isolation, desolation

Let it go and so fade away, to let it go
Oh yeah and so fade away, to let it go, oh no
And so to fade away, I'm wide awake, I'm wide awake

Okay, so I changed my mind, I'll do one more:
Red Dragon

So me being me, I chose another soft song for an intense book. The Books's "Cello Song". If you look at it, it could be it, from the first lyric; "Strange face, with your eyes, so pale and sincere. Underneath you know well, you have nothing to fear, for the dreams that came to you when you were young told of a life where spring has sprung."
(Forgive me for not putting it in poetry form, although this post is long, I don't want it to be a mile long.)
To me, this could be Dolarhyde or Reba, because they both know well, but one of them only produces that wellness. Can you guess who? Although, I have to say, Dolarhyde's social side is like my spirit animal; just take away the necrophilia lol.
Dolarhyde's face, to me, could be described with the lyric. Its just an amazing strange pair, to me. I'm not sure if it completely goes with it, I'll let you guys decide for that, but I just feel like it is.
Heres the song and lyrics:

Strange face, with your eyes
So pale and sincere
Underneath, you know well
You have nothing to fear
For the dreams that came to you
when you were young
Told of a life where spring has sprung

You would seem so frail
In the cold of the night
When the armies of emotion
Go out to fight
But while the earth
Sinks to its grave
You sail to the sky
On the crest of a wave

So forget this cruel world
Where I belong
Ill just sit and wait
And sing my song
And if one day
you should see me in the crowd
Lend a hand and lift me
To your place in the cloud

Cello Song (feat. Jose Gonzalez) Lyrics - Books (Don't tell anyone, but I secretly don't like this siteee). Sorry if this ones a bit bad, I was distracted by trying to type in the first lyric in the first paragraph. And maybe or maybe not Tumblr...

I like to read in silence. The dialogue in my head is what I prefer. But to each their own.

I don't want any type of distractions when I read- it's just me, the book, a light and the recliner! (sometimes with a cat laying in my lap....heaven)
wow - I am having a deja vu type of feeling right now. I agree with you both - complete silence is preferable for me - no distractions.

OKAY, SO I READ A BOOK THROUGH THIS WEEK (mostly through the first half of the week because I'm lazy to get to things and haven't been on this here computer)

I'm sure you've all heard of this book, as it's grown some fame through the past couple of - years? I'm pretty sure it was published in 2009 but Idk, anywho...

The_Fault_in_Our_Stars.jpg

So, this was one of the ones where I was just lost in translation. But for some reason (Yes, I am a big U2 fan) the new single by said artist, "Invisible" just felt right. And now that I go over the lyrics, it makes perfect sense. The first lyric, "It's like the room just cleared of smoke / I didn't even want the heart you broke / It's yours to keep / You just might need one," (yes, I learned more skills, brahskies) goes with Isaac, because Isaac's girlfriend, Monica, could not handle all the blindness, aka the cancer and stress, which is basically the room clearing of smoke, for although Isaac has gotten rid of his cancer, he can somehow see things more clearly.

The second lyric, which you can read in a minute because I'm going to post them at the bottom, is, to me, Hazel, because her parents are nagging her constantly to be a normal teenager, when all she wants is some sleep and reading. She does go out, and, as you see, falls in love and becomes a "real teenager". Her parents end up getting pissed at her for how much she goes out (this is closer to the end of the book, when Augustus's cancer has gone from aches to pissing and vomiting all over himself), so just change father's son, to parents' daughter.
I feel like the third is Hazel and Augustus, because, well, they are more than we see at first, and more than we know, and we can tell who they really are at the end of the novel. It can also be Peter Van Houten, but *chuckles* who cares about that bastard? ;D

The last lyric is Hazel and Augustus only, because they love each other so much and its so cute until one of them dies and then I cried, and pftsjfslkf yeah.

I honestly think that that's enough for you to see how this song is sooo The Fault in Our Stars. Here's the lyrics and song so you can see for yourself: :3
It's like the room just cleared of smoke
I didn't even want the heart you broke
It's yours to keep
You just might need one

I finally found my real name
I won't be me when you see me again
No, I won't be my father's son

I'm more than you know
I'm more than you see here
More than you let me be
I'm more than you know
A body in a soul
You don't see me but you will
I am not invisible

That's right
I'll be in the invisible world

I don't dream, not as such
I don't even think about you that much
Unless I start to think at all

All those frozen days
And your frozen ways
They melt away your face like snow

I'm more than you know
I'm more than you see here
I'm more than you let me be
I'm more than you know
A body in a soul
You don't see me but you will
I am not invisible
I am here

There is no them
There is no them
There's only us
There's only us
There is no them
There is no them
There's only us
There's only us
There is no them
There is no them
There's only you
And there's only me
There is no them

Also, to those of you who don't listen to music while reading, I totes understand, broskies, I used to do that to, but I wanted to adjust myself so that I could focus on both, so I did, and now I'm happy. :3

Holy God, you guys are making me want to read The Dark Tower series again.
