My phone. I'm starting to catch on.

Google app on an Android phone. I located it on Grandma's phone on her app list so she can play with hers and not threaten to take mine away anymore.

I asked my phone my name. She replied, "Your name is the wrong name for you. Here, you can learn what name should really be on your birth certificate. Based on your personality, likes and dislikes, and random facts about yourself, what should your name really be? What letter does your real name start with?" And a link to allthetests.com came up, which I'm not going to click on.

I feel kinda let down.
When DH asked Siri what his name is she said "I don't know. You haven't told me your name." And sounded like a petulant child.

Come to think of it, she often sounds like a petulant child.

If you go, say hello to Bert and Ernie for me!

I'm thinking that must be very confusing for kids living on or near it.

When we came to look at our house before moving in, our four year old was so excited. He kept telling everyone that we were moving in to Harry Potter's house. There is a storage area under the stairs, and previous Tenants must have used it as a playroom because there are children's drawings all over the walls. But he called it. Harry's Room immediately, and those drawings just confirmed it in his mind. We still call it Harry's Room.

I never felt the need to have a mobile phone. I do see the novelty and convenience and, in some emergency cases, they'd be the cat's meow. I haven't had a mobile phone for so long I no longer feel I'm missing out on anything. I have been interested in how many people re-buy almost the same phone when there is a new feature, whether major or minor. Android vs. Apple has replaced the old Ford vs. Chevy debate we had as kids.

I have only bought myself 3 phones since they came out. I use them til they no longer work.. lol
I wouldn't mind not having one 'if' they still had pay phones on every corner.. but good luck finding a pay phone. I 'really' like that my kids always had them, to know they can call me if needed and I could/can always know where they are and can always reach them. A sense of security for a parent I suppose. The down side to this is it seems their phones are an extension to their bodies... omgosh.. drives me nuts to see that thing glued to their hands.

We rarely talk on our phones. Mostly used for texting. And we do not have data plans, we use wifi though.

Mine and my son's were purchased for safety/health reasons. As we both have a condition which could require calling 911 it 's best to be able to. And it means when he's late getting home I can call him...or if he changes his plans he can call me. And the school can call me even when I'm not home. This has come in handy for a few injuries over the years.
