(((Mary))) A couple small suggestions. Get a notebook or some type of journal to write in. Put it in your purse along with a couple of pens. At each Dr. Visit, write answers to any questions you have jotted down. It helps as you are trying to remember what, when, where, etc. Also ask your daughter to go to the initial few visits, at least until you understand more. Keep in touch

My daughter has to go with me since she is my ride. She's made arrangements for someone to take care of the baby so we won't have any distractions while the doctor is talking to us. I always carry paper, and pen with me, so I can get my daughter to be my secretary today. It is going to be a lot to absorb in one session.

Sharonc, may I ask what kind of cancer you had? If so many people come out of this, I'm sure hoping I will too.

...Mary, my sweet girl-your post sent me reeling...as a healer, cancer is one that gripes my soul-and makes me wish for some god-like power to remove it from all....I wish for you the wisdom to make informed choices, the strength to bear the successful trials ahead and all the love in my heart to help keep your chin up...

I have lung cancer sweetie, and so far with radiation and chemo, I seem to be responding well. My last scan showed that the tumour had shrunk considerably, according to my doctors and has not spread anywhere else. I have my next appointment on Nov. 27th for a follow up and we'll see what happens from there. At this point, I just take things a day at a time and trust in God to get me through each day. I just have to let go of the work stress I'm going through. Concentrate and look after me. Gotta remember that!

I just got back from the doctor. I have an appointment next Monday for the consultation before my surgery.
I have to go to a hospital that is about 2 hours away to have this surgery done. It will be done by a robot! The doctor said it will be much better using the robot compared to regular surgery. The recovery time is much quicker, and I will be home within a day or 2.
My doctor gave me a hug before I left her office, and said I would be just fine.
She couldn't tell me what stage I am in, and that they won't know until I am operated on.
I wish I could wiggle my nose, and have it all over with.

Mary, I had been thinking about you since you posted a thread awhile back about going to the doctor and being worried. I am so sorry to hear after reading the news today. Sending thoughts, prayers and hugs~ It sounds like you have a great supportive family. Also, a group here that is behind you every step of the way. My thoughts are with you!

I can't urge you strongly enough to consider alternate options before you let them cut into you. Give yourself a few weeks of alternative treatment options before you go under the knife. I beg you. Please consider the Phoenix Tears option.

I am calm today. I don't know why, but I don't have the fear that I did.
My ob-gyn yesterday explained a lot to me, and answered all my questions. I think I was more worried about how this is going to affect my diabetes.
I don't know, but I think it is kinda cool that a robot can do this surgery,
