I've had my share of wild animal issues near my home lately, but this one is pretty cute.

What is it? We have had some family debate, and the following terms have been bandied about: muskrat, capybara, groundhog, hedgehog, coatimundi, woodchuck, and beaver.
Bear in mind (we know it is not bear), we live in Derry, which is in Southern NH. That probably rules a few of those guesses out. My money is on groundhog. Care to weigh in?

note* - It is really cute and appears to enjoy eating acorns on its hind feet. It isn't thrilled by my presence, but it does not run away all that fast. It stayed and allowed the picture snapping for quite some time, and it keeps returning.

Will it bother Sammy? (a small to medium poodle mix with some neurotic tendencies)

...Groundhog and Woodchuck are the same thing, and that fat lil feller is most definitely a groundhog......

My boyfriend won't eat any animal, but we have a lot of dinner meat in our yard: turkeys, geese, ducks.

I thought scrapple was pork based....
but I don't have any idea what I'm talking about.
:question_pig:
Back in the 1970’s I used to go to a butcher shop that was run by a farmer. His scrapple, in addition to pig, also included varmints he got rid of that were destroying his crops. Only a few people knew, and his daughter was a family friend. Waste not, vaunt not. :)
