Moderator, I'm not sure if you caught a previous post of mine, but did King say in the PBS interview that he is working on a book that involves a character from the Hodges universe? Is that already known, or is that news? I thought he said a book is "in process" in regard to that. I was wondering if that is his next book, in addition to the one with Owen King. Also, what about the third Talisman news that was mentioned in the thread? I am trying to find confirmation of that in articles but do not see it. Is he starting that up in February? Thank you.

RE: PBS Live interviewer on Facebook - I know he did not read End of Watch. He was going off of someones cliff notes calling it a crime novel - he specifically stated that it was not like his other books with the supernatural, etc.... SPOILER ALERT -- Not a typical crime novel by any means.

I didn't watch the PBS/Facebook event so don't have enough information to confirm. Most of the time he doesn't want much of the plots revealed so until he says something publicly, I can't comment on those sorts of specifics. When we're given the thumbs up from Steve and his publisher, that's when we'll make any new book announcements on his social media sites.

Steve and Peter have been thinking about (and on at least one occasion gave a time-frame) starting the next Talisman book for years but weren't able to coordinate their schedules. Given that, this is an "I'll believe it when I see it" announcement for me .

There are two more in November but I'm not able to give out more information until the local venues are ready to do so.

Hmmmm...during a recent visit to a bookstore here I was talking to an owner and asked if she could put me on a super secret Mainers first list (lol...said in a joking manner but I was like...no really though!) What's it going to take to make one of those happen? I'll bake,I'll buy cocktails,I'll drop a large load of crafting supplies at a secret location........

Oh man......David just crushed my dreams by pointing out that I am reading that wrong and that local vendors doesn't mean LOCAL like I was wanting it to be.;-D;-D;-D;;DWhat can I say? I'm an optimist!

Interesting side note, the books I got were 7th editions. End of Watch MUST be doing great in sales!!!!!

Interesting, when I seen your post I went and checked mine, It apears to me that mine are 1st prints. But I may be mistaking. Does it clearly say "7th print" or is it a series of numbers?

On the copyright page in my books they say "First Scribner hardcover edition June 2016" So I just assumed it was a 1st. I just want to make sure.

There should also be a string of numbers, the lowest of which is the printing number. A first printing will say: 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2
Whereas a 7th printing will say: 7 9 10 8

Well I did not know that, though as Machine's Way (almost ;)) said it feels like I should've. You live and learn.

Have to say I enjoyed the vids I discovered on Youtube. Made the time on the old exercise/stationary bike seem to fly by. Like others, though, I do wish people would put some imagination into their questions. I mean, research materials are right there on t'Internet, usually on the very site they'll post their (oftentimes crummy) phone-vids to ("Hey, watch my vid! No, I don't watch other peoples'. It's all about my bubble, man!").

Thank you, that was helpful. I feel like I should of known that already.

dont feel too bad about it, when i asked the bookstore owner, he said it was a first edition. Which it is! Its just a 7th Printing of the first edition.

did you check your book? There is an excellent guide to identifying 1st Edition 1st printings on the Stephen King Website. When i first started collecting i used that as my collecting bible!

I don't feel bad about it, I just feel like I knew about the printing info and for some reason forgotten about it. Ill blame it on getting old. lol.
I did check my books from the Book Festival event and as everyone is pointing out they are 7th prints. I didn't even think to check that upon purchase, not that it would of mattered, a signed SK book is a signed SK book!!
Although I did check my copies from the EOW book tour and those are all 1st/1st.
From a collectors and value standpoint I think the value of the signed 1st/1st will more than likely go up as there are at the very least 400+ 7th print signed copies floating around out there now.

Hello everyone, at one point in my life I read a lot of King and thoroughly enjoyed it and some of the descriptions have stuck with me and probably will forever stick with me. So I was really shocked and surprised and pleased with how great his appearance was at the National Book Festival. Contrary to what I expected, it was humorous, enlightening and inspiring. I brought my Nikon DSLR (nothing special) and took a ton of pictures. Anyway I created this account just to post this somewhere that he would hopefully read. He mentioned how mortified he was by Richard Scarry and it reminded me of (a very NSFW) photoshop contest involving the works of Richard Scarry that caused me great joy to flip through. So here it is, it's nine pages. Again, language and adult situations so NSFW imagery in there but it sounded like something he would enjoy.

Welcome to the Board!
I'm going to leave this here for now as it is about your experience at the NBF, but we do have a Self-Promotion area that should be used if you have any similar material to share in the future.
