I'll be watching this thread because I still don't have an e-reader, but I am seriously thinking of getting one.

I still read regular books...my daughter bought a google nexus, she says she can get any book she wants for nook or kindle.
I thank you all for your input! I went with the Paperwhite. I have been having a lot of problems with headaches recently so that probably made me a little more cautious about the screen on the Fire than I would have been otherwise. I may be sorry about missing out on all the fun stuff the Fire can do, but it is more important to me to be able to read and do it comfortably.
Hubby is a little exasperated with me. He said "I tell you to spend money and you figure out a way to spend less!" But I only spent about $10 less AND I got a cover too.

Hopefully, you'll love your new Kindle, Cat. I have the Kindle Fire HD and I opted for the 32 GB worth of memory. Just because I am nerdy like that.

My new Paperwhite arrived today and I love it! The screen is bright and crisp and really even better than the one on my old keyboard model. And it's so little! I am really happy I went with this model.

I have a nice pink one I bought of a man in a yellow coat. He says I have to keep it on the low down, but I could have it for free if I 'borrow' some of the books listed inside
so far I have found 100 unlisted Stephen King novels on it, none of them managing to end 'Under the Dome' to my satisfaction !
anyway, read in the local news app that I am in for a big win tommorow- so you U R welcome to it if you wants Cat.

The cloud is just somebody else's computer. I've been thinking of buying one of those gadgets to work my way up to getting a cellphone. I miss my 8-tracks.
