I've been wanting a baby grand for a long time but I'm leaning towards getting an electric one.
Recently I have been wanting binoculars for bird watching and an expensive telescope for star gazing. Yeah, I'm a nerd.

Some of my best childhood memories are of sitting in our backyard while my brother pointed out various constellations, planets, and the sky lab. We also spotted several interesting (to us, anyway) UFOs.
When we were first married, my ex bought me a nice telescope. I haven't used it in years.....just can't do it.

Doc - I keep my binoculars right by the back door so I can get up close with my bird friends. It makes my day to see the cardinals. And mockingbirds. I kept thinking they were baby blue jays, but nope! We've got mockingbirds.

Great thinking nottie! We'll have to keep up Secret Santa. I'll wait to see if someone with better brains is up for it, before I volunteer.

My needful thing.... hmmm.... I wish time travel were possible.

Right now I've got my eye out for bird dish towels. I've got one. And I know I can find more on Amazon. But I still like real shopping. So, when I'm at Tuesday Morning or Marshalls or - places known for their random gems - I'm on the hunt for bird dish towels.

And I want some of these bowls.

I need to stay off pinterest. I have a virtual life over there that I'd die for.

Something we've wanted for a very long time. Oh, man.

If we're talking wistfully, I'd say good looks and a solid work ethic in my youth. If I had worked a quarter as hard in, say, high school as I do now, I'd be ahead of where I am now by a factor of at least four. And combine that with good looks? Yow.

If we're talking materially, I'd say that I'm doing fine. Other than a big pile of numbers in the bank account, I'm not thinking of anything that I wish I'd had that isn't achievable now.

Maybe better mechanical skills But that sounds like it's in the "wistful" category too.

That's fantastic. I sure could use a pair, too, my eyesight has gotten worse over the last year. I noticed it while driving down deserted Interstate in Wyoming last year. I couldn't read signs and therefore kept missing my exit. Glasses has helped me see and I love looking for all the different birds around the house. Cardinals are plentiful and blujays. Lately I've seen woodpeckers, turtle doves, and these tiny grey birds with yellow bellies. There's another gray bird with black and white markings that literally stands upside down on tree trunk like a spider defies gravity. It hops with the greatest of ease and eats ants out of the bark. So, yeah, binoculars will be something I'll be looking for at a flea market or thrift store.
Good luck on finding your bowls. Make no deals with any sketchy Leland Gaunt figures, lol.

Was it this? It's a type of woodpecker

Very close, but it was tiny and more grey-feathered. I have seen mockingbirds in the same tree, so it's possible, but I'm not sure. I usually check two Alabama bird websites when I'm unsure. I need a fieldguide, too, while I'm wishing for needful things. :)
That's probably close to its size, though. It stands stiff legged and appears to stick to tree like glue, very odd. Remember how Superman calmly walks straight up a skyscraper? Like that!
