When my siblings and I go to doctors that want to do any procedures that include pain killers, anesthesia or relaxants especially, we always tell me about our dad as we don't know if we might have the same bad reactions. A family link or just an individual thing?

Yes, my dad was so gentle. And so kind! I guess he ripped the curtains off the wall at one point and had a nurse crying!
...I would have to know the drug they used on him to give you an intelligent answer...but in the main, I don't believe it's a familial link-just individual...my mom is allergic to damn near everything and I have no such trouble...but it's ALWAYS wise to at least mention and to look at potential side effects...some treatments are more activating to your physiology than others...

I have heard or read somewhere that redheads require more anesthetic than others - not sure if this is just a fallacy or an actual fact.

My son and his fiancee actually went to see that one  a few days ago! :icon_eek:

Of course they are in their 20s and will watch just about anything :tounge::smile::) (for them it's just a night out and they are not all that discriminating)

Have you read any reviews on the movie yet?
I've talked to a few who have gone. Boys have not been impressed and girls that have read the book aren't either. The few I've talked to that saw it but hadn't read it liked it, one started reading the book bc of it and the other was like "her legs are so hairy!" I'll probably wait for it to come out for rent. Lol

I think freak, or crazy...or weird for added to my nerd status in class the other day... Lab topic was patient positioning, which included applying and securing restraints. Adding up all my posts on the thread song game it's easy to tell my song palate is...diverse... it's also random and perpetua--trust me. The whole time my clinical director is demonstrating with the worst cuffs "Tie your mother down" is playing in my head. I had to ask if anyone else was singing it and every one, instructor included, stopped and stared at me. No one had even heard of the song! WT»¥®*??

...and good luck ever getting an order for restraints unless you get into Mental Health...around here, MD's are very reluctant to order them for fear of being sued, even when the family is begging them to do it-so their family member doesn't harm themselves....at least being a Correctional Nurse as I am, restraints like cuffs and leg irons are expected...
In the geriatric field I think restraints might be Federally forbidden now, though it might just be a State or even a given facility decision. Years ago a variety of them were routinely used, often imho unnecessarily. When we were no longer able to use them I wasn't entirely surprised to see that things tended to go well.

But I'm talking geriatrics, not mental health or corrections, although one problem in geriatrics is that it's sometimes also mental health.

I read the first Fifty Shades because I had a friend who was just dying to discuss it. OMG. The author must've used the word "flushed" 100 times. "She flushed when he said this. She felt herself flush when he did that." I laughed through the whole thing. Then, I saw the trailer for the movie and actually heard the word "flush" used in the ad! If it would fit, I'd flush the whole book down the toilet...

High quality, it was not...lol entertaining, enough--when weighed against a Mosby's Respiratory Care Equipment text book, especially...
