Thanks. It surprising to me that he puts it in Cleveland based on what I've read. But if he says so, it is so - especially because it's fiction. Plus he's taken license with locations in other novels. I believe in at least one of the Gunslinger books he mentions that he has taken liberty with street locations in New York. In the end it doesn't matter to the story even though it matters just a little bit to those familiar with the locales. (FYI - I grew up in Huron County about 60 miles West of Cleveland. I was (and still am) a fan of the Cleveland Indians and not the Detroit Tigers.
...he rooted for and attended some Tribe games years back and grew to enjoy the city-hence the locale....

Some thing, when Holly says she is going to visit her parents, she says "the drive is 4 hours". Toledo, Ohio was my first choice, but it is only about 2.25 hours from the Queen City. Mr King mentions that the polluted last is to the East, which really wouldn't work if the city was Cleveland. Chagrin Falls mentioned in End of Watch is a real city, about one half hour to the East of Cleveland. The city of Northfield Ohio, a real city, is about 4 hours from Cincinnati, but not really close to lake Erie, which used to be so polluted, the Cuyahoga river, one of its tributaries, caught fire in 1969
