I have heard that they double as Gas Masks... which could be handy on a new (and largely unknown) planet.
Especially when some people go around spilling their beans.....I won't mention names here, but his initials are OoO

But the radiance is diminished. High noon on that planet would be equivalent to a low-setting sun on ours. It sounds a bit cold, doesn't it? Which of course means that the inhabitants must surely have developed alcohol.

The thing I'd like to know is how long ago they discovered Earth! 
Thats amazing. I will be the first to go there loool. (i wish) It is 500 light years away though.
Well, if we develop space flight that gets near the speed of light, you'll hardly age at all during the flight.
And by the time you get back to Earth, still hardly aged, you can visit your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-(etc) grandchildren.
Probably around 1976....The thing I'd like to know is how long ago they discovered Earth!
