This is their plan. Finally, there is an alternative to smoking tobacco and they want to ban it! I know several folks who gave up the smoking and used the e-cigarette to help them. Some of these politicans must have bad lobotomy scars on their foreheads, because they do not have much brains. If they had two brains, they would still be half-wits.

Really, bacon? I might have to start smoking.

They lure the kids in with cartoons and now they are luring the adults with bacon. :biggrin2:

BTW - I'm not for this at all. I hate nanny laws.

If they are banning because kids might see others using them and decide they want to, then, I guess, they should ban alcohol too.

I'll bet the stores right on the border outside of the city do great business.

It’s appears to be just a public health hate crusade designed to stamp out unpopular thoughts and actions rather than being about public health. But NYC keep electing these bozos, so they deserve all the nonsense they get. And if you think things are bad now, just wait till the new guy takes office. You ain't seen nothin' yet! Let the exodus begin.

There's rumblings about it over here in the UK too. You pretty much can't in pubs, but where I live, in a small village, no one bats an eyelid in our "local". Personally they've kept me off fags since March, if they start treating them like ciggies I'll be gutted.

I wonder if they issue bullwhips to New York's finest? Wouldn't that be great? Visiting New York, craning your neck looking up at the Empire State Building and you hear the crack of the bullwhip behind you...you sprain your neck jerking around...to see a morphodite taking aim at some other poor sucker w/an e-cig at their lips. Maybe some big black Humvee prowling the streets, a water-cannon mounted on top, hosing down offenders?

 With bacon, you can lure me into anything!!!

Seriously, the title of this thread made me so angry, I almost didn't look. I am sooooo tired of governments trying to micro manage everyones lives. I am a human being. I have free will. If I choose to do things that the governments don't like, it is my business - as long as I don't hurt someone else.

Of course, when I looked in here, I immediately found posts that made me giggle - so no more anger ;)

I thought we were all adults here? Next they'll ban e-readers because library attendance has gone down.

There is only so far politicians should go with butting into people's business. It is a big pile of horse pucky.

I'm so tired of the government deciding what is good for us and then forcing their opinion on us. Ridiculous!

Wow - I can't believe all the haters on here today. As a lung cancer survivor (so far) I applaud the "powers that be" for banning these smoke-causing substitutes. ALL crutches should be banned. I know people who "tried to quit" using these E-cigarettes and all it did was make them want to smoke more and they eventually went back to real cigarettes. They still create smoke and you can not get past the hand to mouth habit. The only cure for smoking is cold turkey and support from your family and friends. If there was never another cigarette product made and sold in this country I couldn't be happier. I was stupid for over 30 years and now I'm paying for it with a partial lung and need of an inhaler to breathe. Keep calling the government names if you want. I applaud them for taking the initiative for something for a change.

Do you also favor mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients?

Question from a non smoker----- if the e-cigarette has a solution which is a mixture of nicotine and flavorings, and this is released as a vapor, isn't some of that nicotine also released into the air which is the same thing as second hand smoke?

Bloomberg is little more than a dictator who gets off by telling people what to do.
I suppose this is his last statement before he leaves office...or does he have time to ban alcohol, sex, chocolate and bacon first? How about Fun and Joy. He should just ban those and be done with it.

I have read the most nicotine produced by an e-cigarette (and not all e-cigs contain nicotine) is 6.23ug per cubic meter (or approximately the volume of a 10 square foot room). So if you can suck up all the oxygen in a 10 square foot room you will be consuming less nicotine than are in a gram of tomato sauce (19.2ug of nicotine per gram). The same goes for potatoes, cauliflower and eggplant.

And if we ban e-cigs because of the "second-hand" arguments, perhaps we should also ban the brewing of coffee, as the water vapor created is contaminated with second-hand caffeine. And nicotine & caffeine are both psychotropic drugs.

This is a serious (not sarcastic) question--is there any evidence that second hand caffeine causes health risks to others as has been proven with second hand smoke?

Oh - the lovely aroma of freshly brewed coffee :dnce_pig: Even people who don't drink the stuff tell me that they love the smell! :haha:
