Hint 1: Under no circumstances should you read Stephen King alone past midnight.

Hint 2: In the SK universe expect more fright, not less.

Hint 3: SK is no longer under any obligation to explain himself. So don't ask.

Hint 4: "Jahoobies" is not Polish for galoshes.

Hint 5: Handcuffs may be employed to deliberately increase tension in some scenes.

Hint 6: To heighten suspension of disbelief, have a cellphone handy when reading Cell.

Hint 7: Read Carrie first.

Hint 8: While viewing a derivative work, say to yourself, "It can't be real. It's only a movie."

Hint 9: Make your peace with the f-word.

Hint 10: SK did not invent horror. It just seems that way.

Every time you come across the following while reading Stephen King, put a quarter in a jar.

1) A passage about the unfortunate effects of poison Ivy

2) 19

3) Buick (put 2 quarters in the jar)

4) Red Sox
