...and where will the outcry be, since a white officer was gunned down by a black suspect???....will there be rioting, looting and pillaging?....no, because the "theatre" isn't near as good as that on the flip-side of the coin....this was not a random act, this smacks of some type of planning-suspect appears to be a bit old for getting a gang "blood patch", but it could be another way of getting status in a gang or he was just some hater that had been arrested or looked at wrong by the deceased officer...I'm not a racist, but this inequity of public outcry makes me sick......

Sadly, there is a narrative -- and as regards policing and the (mostly) brave people who do that, it's a troubling narrative -- in this country that suggests that crime statistics should somehow be made demographically "fair," no matter who is actually committing crimes. And it's further sad that people like you and I would be painted as "racists" by others who "earn" their bread and meat by keeping the fiction alive. Right now, as we speak, there is a protest going on outside the state fair where I live by representatives of a segment of society who -- statistics show -- spend most of their time killing each other.

But that inconvenient truth does not further the political narrative, and so is ignored in favor of what sells.

Fire away!

And for me it's not that he was an on-duty police officer that was shot and killed. I would feel the same way if he was John Doe and nobody knew him, or what job he did.
Of course, but in this instance,it appears the officer was killed because of the uniform he wears..that motive is troubling indeed, not like the guy was looking to rob someone and it went wrong.

glanced at the posted article. included are several photos. one shows a man walking at night across what has the appearance of a parking lot and it appears he is carrying something presumably a gun. could be surveillance video from the gas station where the officer was pumping gas into his cruiser, in uniform. sounds like the suspect, Miles, walked up to him, shot the innocent officer multiple times, continued shooting even as the officer lay on the ground. what isn't mentioned...yet...is where Miles obtained the gun he used to take the life of an innocent...although the article did say that Miles has a criminal history that includes something with a firearm...recklessness? disorderly conduct? I forget exactly. i wonder if there is any history between the two? i don't recall if the article posted said.

Obviously they are still investigating,so all is speculation, but as I understand it,a prosecuting attorney or someone in the investigation hinted that the officer was killed simply because he was law enforcement..
