The girl who originally played Loonette the Clown (Big Comfy Couch) started on Mr. DressUp. She said he was wonderful to work with and helped her a lot.

I was really upset when I discovered that Uncle Bobby was a drunk and had been charged by the Police Officer on his show when he left and was driving. So, hearing that Ernie Coombs really was as wonderful as I always believed was wonderful.

Mr. Rogers was a wonderful Canadian...well loved in the USA. There is nobody who campares to Ernie Coombs, though. Every child knew him and spent days doing crafts with Casey, Finnegan and Al.
Mr. Dressup Casey Finnegan: What Happened To Those Beloved Puppets?
I grew up watching this - I remember being sick and lying in bed watching CBC when I was about six years old. Could not go to school and Mom was working night shift so she was asleep. She told me if I needed anything to just tell the upstairs tenants!

Wow - the old days were a lot different than today - yet we all managed to survive anyway. (Must have been all that dirt we ate while playing outside).

All my sick days were with MR. Dressup and Sesame street.

I too grew up with Mr. Dressup (Casey and Finnigan), The Friendly Giant (Rusty the Rooster and Jerome the Giraffe) and Chez Helene. Looking at an early pick of Ernie shows me he looks like Elvis Costello. I'm a big fan of both. As a small lad I used to throw my Mothers dresses in a cardboard box and use it as my Tickle Trunk and get all dressed up, and put on her shoes, and...wait...what?...too much information...should have never posted this...:barbershop_quartet_member:

Good to know I'm not the only one who saw that resemblance.
