...and without spoiling for a fight-same could be said of you...and I appreciate the work you did...I'm not saying ALL criminals deserve the ultimate punishment....I work around a couple that I would have no qualms bringing home for dinner...they truly regret their actions, and have tried to better themselves within a system that makes that difficult...my "bloodthirst" if you will, is for those who have been a drain on the system for decades after their convictions, trying every legal maneuver they can conjure and then some to avoid the Reaper. Not only do they dance, but they want to loudly wail and gnash their teeth that THEY were victims too....maybe so, but being victimized should make it easier to see the error in their ways, not provide an excuse for same. I've never walked that side of the tracks, but I damn sure know if I brutally slaughtered a woman and her unborn child-that I would expect to pay the consequences, because no amount of abuse or mistreatment as a child. or "self-medicating" justifies that type of abhorrent behavior later in life....I guess it will be easiest for us to just agree to disagree, because I in no way wish to alienate you or anyone else...my beliefs are just that, mine...and I don't expect anyone else to bow to my 'wisdom"...

You don't have to explain yourself. Though it is infuriating when people assume that because we're against cruel and unusual punishment, favor due process and oppose the death penalty that we somehow don't value the lives of the victims even though we may have experienced the hardship of violent crimes.

When he was in Scarborough he wasn't killing. He was raping. But each attack got more viscous. Then he met up with the bee-otch and the victims were younger and from the first they paired up they killed them.

As for me, I'm a paranoid person anyway. I'm not sure I was any more nervous and cautious. But a lot of young women were, and if I was normal I probably would have been too.

He originally lived in a fancy gated community. But he was attacking women up near the new Warden Woods mall. My husband has long been convinced that sicko is the reason that mall died before ever developing in to anything.

After they killed her sister and got married, they moved to St. Catherine's, which is where they abducted the two young girls they were eventually convicted of.

I'm pretty sure nobody said that. Hey. I thought we gave up assumptions in favor of having a drink.

You feel that you have misjudged us? You had us tagged as decent loving people. I think we are good people who save our compassion for the ones who deserve it..... The victims who brutally lost their lives to rapists and baby killers. I am sure that lil mama gasped, too. I imagine she had blood bubbling out of our chest and mouth as she screamed probably begging for the new little life within her....who was almost ready to be born and the ready to take life by the horn. Murder of the innocent enrages. Please do not accuse me of being no better than the murder for wanting to see justice done. It cheapers life. If you need to stay away from the board, that is your choice.

It's infuriating when people present themselves as morally superior by equating the murder of the innocent with ending the life of the wrongdoer. We have a system of prisons in the States called Max...they call it Max because the people locked up inside are incorrigible, they have continued to murder behind bars, they have NO REDEEMING qualities, and we as a society do not have the balls to administer justice. They are called Max because it takes a maximum amount of tax dollars to house these cretins. They are called Max because the people who have to tend to and babysit these ****heads put their lives on the line every time they pass behind the gate. Woe unto them who call evil good and good evil.

Friends can disagree and still be fond of each other. I'm sure my reaction goes against my faith, and yet, it's truly my reaction. Let's not judge each other.

...and you don't need to re-invent the wheel...she did very well making her counterpoints, and I have respectfully stated that we are at an impasse on one convincing the other, hence the "agree to disagree" statement...

I don't think the people against the death penalty are saying they are morally superior though there have been people on the other side of argument saying we care more about murderers than the lives of the victims which is asinine.

I'm not reinventing the wheel. I was simply saying that her need to have to justify herself like that should not have been necessary and some of the assertions made against those with our viewpoint went too far.

This is definitely a topic that people feel very passionately about. Let's all be respectful of our differing opinions.
