I had to read this book for my english class this semester. And I actually found this book to be one of the best books I've ever read. Especially with the diversity of characters. Does anyone else agree? It also shows how our military powers would react in such an extreme situation.

No kidding! Was this college or high school English? I enjoyed the story...was only the 2nd King story I read back when it came out...hardback. And yeah, that colonel is a hoot...so easy to imagine that guy from Mail-Call in the part. He's the stereo-typical gung-ho officer. Never saw the movie if there is one...looked at your page...so it must-a been high school English unless you're in a college-level course...either or I guess. You English teacher is all right!

Welcome to SKMB James Fox - not a bad book. It's one I had actually purchased from a book club. I think the book is better than the movie, however.

I still haven't been able to finish this one.....every time I pick it up, something happens to take my attention away.

Dear @Neil W ...... if you use spoilers, it is much appreciated. Use them like this

There is a movie - I scored it for a buck at the pawn shop...haven't watched it yet though...

To me Dreamcatcher is just sorta meh. I liked the characters ok and parts of the book dealing with their friendship have a bit of the vintage King feel, but mostly it struck me as kind of dull. I just don't think aliens are King's strong point.
