My brother in law and sister in law met online, and they've been married for about 14-15 years (can't remember exact date). I don't know how it works for everyone, but he was blessed--she's a wonderful woman (I like her better than I like him, actually--lol).

I tried online dating a couple of times, but every time I found a guy online and we went out on a date, it ended badly, we
usually broke up after the first date or a month later. So I decided to ever never try to find a man online that does not work for me. So
I gave up and decided to wait, maybe my future prince stepping front of me someday, and YES he did. Last year May 1st Juho my dear friend and partner walked into my life and here we are in a happy relationship.

Maybe it work for someone, but definitely not for me. And hopefully I never have to look for a man, it's been a long search and now I
hope and wish I've found him whom I will spend rest of my life with and he says same to me too. :wink2:

What are your thoughts on this? Has anyone actually done it? Or knew anyone that did?
Does it make you a loser for even thinking about it?

It seems to me that there are a lot of people who are alone and the day consists of work and home without a place to meet any other people. I admit that I have cruised some sites for fun and they range from hilarious to creepy.

If the SKMB is any sort of gauge - there must be some good people behind keyboards.

Nope; don't like the idea. Heard too many bad stories about it.

I'd have to agree with what's been stated by others - it works for some and not for others. I know three couples (offhand) who met online. My cousin and his wife have been married for 15 years (first marriage for both), but have been really struggling the past few years. I wouldn't be surprised if they split up.

I worked with a lady who had been married twice before and her two oldest daughters registered her on some online dating site and even picked out the guy. They got married, but a few years later had a very ugly divorce.

My mom's best friend met her husband on a "green" site for environmentally conscious and like-minded people. He was a widower and she had been divorced for many years. I think they've been married for about ten years now and are incredibly happy for the most part. There's something to be said about common interests and ideals.
