i absolutely love it....

Great casting! All the actors are fabulous but Tobias Menzies (Frank/Randall) NAILS it. He made my skin crawl during last weeks episode.... so dead on. Cait Balfe reminds me so much of Kate Bush, who strangely enough, while reading the books, i had always pictured as Claire.

Couldn't agree more, he absolutely nailed it especially with his facial expressions--there was a little twitching of the mouth/sneer thing he did that was chilling although at the time I wasn't sure if having read the books and knowing how evil the character is had something to do with my reaction.

Interesting choice of words right here..........

;-D

Trust me, you won't regret it even if you have to watch it again with your husband. ;)

That is exactly what I just said to myself a minute ago! (Any justification will do.)

Well, I guess we won't be seeing CAT again today.........:D

You know, there is one distinct advantage to night shifts and having him home during the day and no kids around....:heheh: ;) :welcoming:

Whoo! That was quite the episode indeed! :encouragement: I always feel a little sorry for actors, doing steamy scenes like that. (Especially when it is done well, and you believe it, all the nuances and feelings portrayed) I just wonder how they ever manage it.

I was just telling Spidey the other day that I thought everyone was doing a superb job getting their character's traits down. That maybe they had even read the source material. Gasp! Maybe they are just getting superb direction, but I like to think maybe they have read at least some of it!

That was fast! ;-D I don't know how those actors do it, either!

I know Sam Heughan has read the book. He's said it in a couple of interviews, and I think Caitriona has read it, as well! I have to get on the books! But, I agree! I especially pay attention to their mannerisms and facial expressions. So good!

I'm glad you liked the episode!

Me, too! Now I'm really glad I've got it DVRd so I can watch it before it starts up again. At least some consolation is that they've also renewed it to go on to book 2.

Lucky girl! You can watch Sam Heughan at any time of your convenience! :) True! I'm thinking maybe season 2 will start up in the fall, perhaps?

In the meantime, I have this little guy to keep me company until it comes back!;;D:love:

What did you guys think of the midseason finale? I thought it was terrific! (Still can't get over that we have to wait until 7 months. Oh, well! ;-D)

I thought the dual scene with Frank and Claire both going to the stones (Craigh Na Dun) was heartbreaking. I really felt for Frank in this scene (but of course I want Claire to be with Jamie ;)) At that very moment, Claire wants to go back, she hears his voice and there's some hope, then of course, the British capture her! :( Also, does anyone else think that the man on that poster looked like Jamie? (the poster of the suspect responsible for Claire being missing) I haven't read the books, but do you think it's possible that Jamie could have time-traveled, too? It looked awfully like him! I've been thinking if Jamie was that man in the first episode--if he was the man who was staring at Claire from outside in the rain (watching her comb her hair), and when Frank saw him and spoke to the man, he suddenly disappeared. Interesting. Also, the very end of the finale was so bad***! A showdown between Jamie and Jack! Can't wait! :)

I haven't watched the "midseason finale" yet. But I can't figure out why they call it that when it doesn't return until April 2015? Did I miss the meeting on that one?
Especially since one article I'd read about it gave the impression that the filming was already done and the reviewer had the screener for the entire first season! I don't understand why that long of a gap between programming if that's the case.
