In your mirror.
Good Saturday evening.

I started watching Ozark earlier today. (now streaming on Netflix) IMDb has it 8.9/10 Crime/drama/thriller.

A Chicago-based financial adviser secretly relocates his family to the Missouri Ozarks when his dealings with a drug cartel go awry.

A couple of friends recommended Ozarks if you like Breaking Bad.

I'm on episode three and I'm enjoying it.

What I've seen so far, episode 1-3

Marty and Ruth think quickly on their feet. Threatening, counter threatening, setting up scenarios and getting some blackmail info if needed. They will either be a great pair or be at each others throat.

A lot of characters that may be superfluous or may come in handy/dangerous later on.

Hope you get to watch!

Ozark tried so hard to be Breaking Bad, that I keep calling the wife Skylar.

I like Jason Bateman, so I'll finish watching (on episode 5, I think) but the stories seem so all over the place and not at all have-to-watch-next-episode-NOW like BB was.
You made it to five? I stopped on episode two. I agree with you, but maybe I'll try watching a couple more. I tried not to judge it too harshly because the actors are great but the whole time I'm thinking they are walking underneath the shadow of Breaking Bad.

This one takes quite a few episodes for all the story pieces to come together, but I really liked it in the end. It's not ground-breaking, but it is a nice little drama with solid performances from Jason Bateman (I grew up with this guy on tv) and some of the other cast members.

Give it another try guys, you might like it.

I finished it last month and ended up liking it by the next episode, as you say, the pieces came together. It kept me guessing and the writing was exemplary.

The redneck family (hope that wasn't offensive; I can't keep track of all the PC terms these days, sorry) turned out to be a really interesting story element.

Thoroughly enjoyed this show! Just finished season 2. Door is open for a 3rd season.
There's obvious comparisons to Breaking Bad because of subject matter, but it stands on its own quite well. Great acting, writing, directing, locations etc. I'm familiar with similar areas to the lakeside resorts and rural ancestral homes, both "redneck" and stately, and I think they did a great job of capturing the feel.
I'm hooked and I wish I hadn't binged it, but I just couldn't stop myself.

That kid that plays Jonah is good. I loved the scene where he spoke at
Buddy's
funeral.

Yes! Everyone does an excellent job though. Can't think of a weak spot in the entire cast. Darlene and Ruth are awesome and Wendy's role is getting juicier.

I have suspected since the beginning of the season that
the Snells were going to get Mason's baby. Darlene's going to get Zeke, isn't she??! That baby is the only innocent person in this entire series besides Tuck. Darlene Snell is the scariest person on this show IMO and if she raises that baby...OMG!
