Have you ever watched Stephen King's Rose Red? It was a 3-part miniseries. It's fiction but it covers a bunch of paranormal activities. The house is haunted and it was built on the site of a Native American burial ground. The history of the house also echoes the story of the Winchester Mystery House.

The characters include a professor of psychic phenomena, a psychometric, an automatic writer, a telepath with remote viewing capabilities, and a post-cognate.

Showing the film in class will guarantee at least a couple parents coming to school with pitchforks and torches after their child has nightmares. So be ready for that :)

Actually, I'm not sure if it would be of help or not but we've been kind of obsessed with a few you tube channels that deal with odd happenings. Paranormal isn't the only thing they deal with. They talk about a lot of "unheard" history stories (really interesting stuff), UFO's, urban legends, and other goodies. It might not help out with the lesson plan but it might be entertaining nonetheless and might point you in the right direction. Search youtube for "William Defalco" and "Obsolete Oddity".
A big plus for me is that they're pretty PG or PG13, dependent upon the content of the actual story. Nothing is more annoying to me than a you tuber who thinks they need to insert the F-word every other sentence to keep their audience entertained.

Thank you for the suggestions and for the warm welcome! Sorry for taking so long to respond. The start of the school year couldn't be much busier. I completely agree that finding PG to PG-13 content on Youtube (especially paranormal-related stuff) is difficult. Those might be just the kind of thing I need to fill up some class time!

A fun and exciting example of a documented phenomenon without any real good scientific explanation: "The Moving coffins of Barbados". Thats just the most known case. there are others similar. Also to point out that paranormal is not the same as supernatural. before we know about magnetism and how it worked magnetism was a paranormal phenomenon. I think the term is beside the normal (which usually is defined as things that can't be explained by todays science)like ESP, Telepathy and similar. while supernatural is above the normal (things that science never ever can explain). Just some thoughts.
