I thought about this news article I read earlier when I read Notties thread. Wanted to make sure it was on the up and up. It is. Snopes'd it.

Disturbing. Appalling.

Warning. Graphic and language.

Notice how the *adults* were watching/video taping but didn't call police. Actually, listen to all the comments.

*sigh*
No words really.

I say the parents need to counter-sue the police department for letting one of their *finest* officers desecrate their property......

Not sure about the U.S.A., but the charge in Canada is a confusing one. It's not a criminal offense in Canada regardless of the context,
unless the elements of the offense are present as set out in the Criminal Code. But, after saying this it is being considered that this
'act' be considered a sexual offense.

I didn't see a mother... anywhere. Yes. Thank you.

People didn't break that up? WTH is wrong with folks...? The man who was filming states a woman should break it up. IDK why. :umm: One of the women advises no one should intervene for fear of getting sued. Wal Mart employees and Security policy is to observe and wait for police. One woman yells to the 6 year old not to to kick the woman's head or he would go to "Little boy jail" And when I saw the little boy square off on the adults...I was heartbroken. He was in such a horrible situation he simply had no idea what to do.
(had some words after all) Thank you!

Apparently she can jump, pounce, swing, hit, stomp, scream and roll around the floor for 15 minutes she just can't walk. I saw another video and some smarty pants says, "She's going to lose her disability for sure. " ;;D

Also, there is the element of surprise. You don't expect someone to jump off a scooter and kick your ass. ;-D

Small town life. Mom would send us out to get rid of us for a while. We'd find adventure all over. Where I grew up, if a guy in a white van asked if you wanted candy you'd say yes. He'd give you some then drive away and we'd continue playing/exploring. I did get the strap or yardstick every so often if the playing/exploring could potentially kill me (i.e., stupid kids doing stupid things).

I was wondering why the one lady needed a scooter if she was able to get off of it and fight.

My mom uses a scooter in most stores because of her MS. She can walk and get around, but not for very long. And if she could walk the whole store, she'd be a mess for a couple of days.

And my little friend Alysia had a motorized wheelchair. It was used both to help cut down on the amount of walking she had to do and it was specially built to cradle her body to cut down on pain. So, it was the chair she used anywhere she needed to sit for a long period, like a movie theater.

A lot of people use things like that because they need extra help, but they aren't necessarily completely disabled.

No thoughts on the Wal Mart mothers? :confusion:
Yeah I will give you my thoughts

What in the god damn hell were the rest of the adults thinking. Do they not see the fear in that kids eyes. The two adults had a choice to act like inbred animals. That kid felt nothing but fear and hate that his "mommy" was being hurt. This poor little kid is trying to do the only thing he can think of by hitting who he views as the monster attacking his mom. In the meantime all of the grown ups are standing around recording with there damn cell phones instead of scooping up the little boy or calling the cops. What the heck has this world come to when we have on such extreme blinders that all we see is the next viral video instead of the trauma this kid is being put through. I could give a heck less if those two adults duke it out and the video goes viral but I care a lot about what happened to that kid. I mean come on. That situation will mostly likely shape who he becomes as an adult. And he wont even be able to say to himself well at least the grown ups came and helped me.

Not only what were the other adults thinking but where the hell were the Wal-Mart employees?

I get the entire "law suit statement" but when I was a kid we had a phrase " SO SUE ME!" I have been in violent public situations before and I can say that in this particular situation I would not have stepped in between the two women. But you better believe I would have picked up that kid and said "Don't worry mommy is ok. The police are coming." I would have tried my best to shield him from what he was seeing without taking him away from that isle. It usually only takes one person saying, "COME ON!!! CUT THE SH**!!!and stepping into a situation to make the crowd actually become a part of the situation rather than a viewer of it. This can be a good or negative thing because you can view videos where there are fights and random people will punch whoever is fighting next thing you know mob mentality starts up and everyone is fighting everyone or everyone is beating the hell out of one person. That is why I say if the two adults want to fight I would not step in between them at least not by myself. But I would help that kid. But unfortunately I know from past experience that I can not stand by and watch someone pick a fight, bully or beat the hell out of someone without doing something about it. I will step in with words before a fight is started. I will try to trick them and say the cops are here. But if the fight breaks out I will not watch someone possibly get beat into injury or to death. If the fight is equal don't risk yourself being injured. But would you really be willing to stand there and watch someone get beat to the point of permanent injury without saying a word or trying to help or something. I cant. The sight and even the thought of those situation makes me feel all sick to my stomach and always have. That is a situation that just really hits a nerve with me.
