I am strangely low on pets these days. Normally, I'm surrounded by animals. I've been called a zookeeper before due to my slight obsession with critters.

At the moment, though, I am the proud mamma of two Parakeets and one enormous fish tank. I'll have to figure pictures out eventually.

industrious young man!

He could be quite the hole digger when he wanted to be. One time I was having a septic tank problem but I didn't know it yet. The drain field was clogged and the problem had not reached the house yet, so I didn't know it. I let him out one morning as I got ready for work and when I was getting ready to leave, I went out to get him and found that he had dug up about half of the dirt around the septic tank. The septic tank people didn't have any trouble finding it when I called them, he had done the locating work for them. ;-D That had to be the grossest thing he ever did.

Ozzy's looking pretty good today. He wanted the camouflage bandage so he can sneak up on squirrels easier. ;-D
Oh hello beautiful.. I'm so glad you're feeling better today!

Here he was pre gray face ;-D posing by some of his landscaping.

Gorgeous pup! (He looks a little bit like Cindy here, Marsha!)

He has always had a favorite hole right by the a/c drain. The dripping water from the a/c drain makes for a nice cool hole.

I don't know if that's why Ozzy is digging but that reminds me of my dog Cindy. She would dig a shallow hole in the dirt to lie down in in the summer to keep cool. :smile2:
(lol, see above...)

This is what my Oz does too... the back lawn looks hideous. :biggrin2:

I'm not sure what to make of the news on Ozzy today. I took him in this morning to get his bandage changed and the vet noticed some scabs on his side. After a closer look, they found a bunch of sores all over his side that were scabbing over. He has a lot of hair, so they were not noticeable before the scabbing. So now they are thinking his leg wasn't an injury but a bacteria infection. They did a culture the first day I took Ozzy in and they didn't see anything weird. So now they are going to do a culture on the side sores and see if we are dealing with the same issue which the vet thinks is the case. I guess the good news is that the wounds on the side were scabbing over which I would assume means they were healing and the wound I took him in for originally is still healing nicely. So anyway, back on antibiotics until they figure it out. He's never seemed sick through any of this, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. Just a month ago, he was in for his annual checkup and had blood work done and everything came back ok. All 3 of the vets in this office have looked at him and are a bit puzzled.

Missed this somehow. Hope Ozzy continues to get better. They're not bug bites are they fljoeO?

And Csonka rules!! Love the name.

No, his leg was completely raw when I first took him in. The wound was so big that it could not be closed. I thought he might have gotten his leg caught on something and ripped the skin off freeing himself. That's how big the area was. These sores on the side are not nearly that bad but they are big. If this was a bacteria, it was an incredibly aggressive one because when I first noticed the leg wound on a Saturday, it didn't look all that bad and by Sunday it was very nasty. I got him to the vet first thing Monday morning (a week and a half ago) and started the antibiotics then. If these other sores are related, they were probably spreading when I took him in (me saying that - not the vet). They are only on one side of his body too which I think makes sense about my spreading theory.
