When you feel up to it, a homemade whole wheat crust, thin, is a great alternative to that doughy stuff :) Add lots of veggies & a little good cheese you're in business--healthy and tasty. I eat very little bready stuff, but I don't even feel guilty about a slice or two of this every couple of weeks--good fiber & nutrients :)
Until I meet my ultimate weight goal I must avoid very much starch due to my need to keep my blood sugar balanced as well as possible. I am allowed a slice of a nutrient-dense bread with some peanut butter as a substitute for one of the Meal Replacements (MR). The MRs get quite boring for me, and I'm certain for most everyone on the program. The important thing is to eat a protein along with a carb; hence the peanut butter. Or I can have an apple and some cheese together. The benefit of the protein with the sugar is that it causes the absorption of the sugars from the starch or the apple to become a trickle instead of a gush. A gush causes the release of more insulin than desired, which tends to cause more of the sugars from starch or fruits to be stored in fat cells. Also, leftover insulin tends to continue to store upcoming sugars as fat. And leftover insulin tends to cause feelings of hunger which are false.

I never had anchovies before maybe try them next time i get a pizza.

For your first time, tell them to put them on the side. When anchovies are cooked on the pizza, the whole pizza has an anchovy taste. So, if you don't like them, you're not stuck with a pizza that tastes like anchovies.

I always order them on the side because hardly anyone I know (that I eat pizza with) likes them and they dominate the pizza when they are cooked on.

"Piiiiizzzzzzza" [think Homer]

I love chicken, cheese n bacon... with red onion and Camembert. Actually I like almost anything on pizza-- EXCEPT for mushrooms, (do not even put one next to my pizza, man) olives... blech and although I've never tried an anchovy... if they are from the fish family, they can stay in the sea! :biggrin2:
Oh and don't forget the beer... (not on the pizza though)

I've never had anchovies on pizza, but my boss makes the Feast of the Seven Fishes for us at Christmas, and there's always anchovies on an antipasto platter - wrap a red pepper strip around it and skewer it with a mozzarella ball - yum! Very salty though.

blunthead That sounds like a hard core diet you're on. Wishing you much luck with it. Dieting is hard.

They put bananas on pizza in Sweden :inspect::monkey: ???
You can put anything on a pizza in sweden. Each according to his taste you know. Not whole ones of course, they slice them up beforehand.
If you go in to a pizza place he can have at least 60 different pizzas to choose from!!! If you're not satisfied with that you can add or take something away. =D:encouragement:

My favorite pizza comes from a pretty new place here. They are partnered with our brewery I was telling you all about a while back. They have a wood fired oven right outside the brewery, and it is sooooo yummy! Pizza and beer. :encouragement:

I'm not picky about toppings. Everything, or just veggies, I like it all. I wouldn't eat little fishies on one though. Blech.

Ham, bacon and salami, when I order a take away from the neighborhood pizza place. When making a one at home, I usually put bacon cubes or ground beef with grated mozzarella, occasionally with chipotle salsa as sauce.
