We have had three threats this week. WTF is going on with that? It is certainly making people uneasy. Canada Day is coming up and I will not be going to any ceremonies this year. Far too uneasy about some idiots going crazy.

I've heard that on the news too, Spidey. There is a lot of concern over the concert and fireworks at the yearly Fourth of July celebration in Boston.

The world has lots of crap happening, but overall, our world is far safer than it's ever been in the past. There's no doubt that there are a cadre of militant scumbags out there doing awful things, but giving up our lives is giving them what they want. I'll be heading to downtown Ottawa tomorrow, where friends are performing, and I hope everyone has a fun and safe Canada Day.

Although I live in East Podunk, I am staying home on the Fourth. Potato salad, devilled eggs, burgers and hot dogs taste just fine on my own back deck with the company of our three dogs, armament within easy reach, yep, Happy Birthday to the US of A!

Very true - I mean statistically, living in Western Countries the odds are very heavy against anyone experiencing these horrors. I think the horrifc nature of these scares and attacks as well as the incredibly hard to fathom motivation for these attacks.

I was going to write a longer post and go into more detail about my feelings but I actually stopped myself because you have to wonder who is reading? Mentioning the T word online probably isn't a great idea. It's also been incredibly hot, I've been travelling all day and I feel dehydrated so I may be unduly paranoid. I swear a squirrel followed me home...

I agree with you but I shall be careful on Canada Day. Having a bbq in the backyard is preferable to going in crowded places anyway.

That's all I'm really sayin', and besides, when is just bein' careful not a good thing, and when are crowded places actually good places to be anytime..,well unless of course your workin' a midway fleecin' suckers, uhh, I mean, giving most valued customers a chance to win Teddy Bears
